Cameroon (カメルーン, Kamerūn) is a supporting character in the series Hetalia: Axis Powers.
Cameroon is depicted as a tall, strong man with a buzzcut and glasses. He has a cross shape shaved into the right side of his hair. In sketches shown in a booklet included with the special edition of Volume 3, he is depicted in his military uniform consisting of a short-sleeved, double-brested uniform shirt with an emblem on the left sleeve and what appears to be a thick shoulder beltwith a beaded decoration hanging from it, knee-length shorts, knee-high socks, and dark gloves. When dressed casually, such as in the Christmas 2010 event, he wears a dress shirt and tie. In some of his appearances, he can be seen with his pet lion, Kokolo.
Personality and Interests
He has made few official appearances outside of sketches and images posted on Bamboo Thicket. It is revealed in his profile in Volume 3 of the published manga that he owns a pet lion cub named Kokolo (ココロ, Kokoro). He enjoys soccer to a great extent, and he even stopped to play soccer with some children on Christmas despite being dressed in nice clothing. In a Christmas 2011 event strip, Cameroon decides to teach a mouse lemur to play soccer, further demonstrating his interest in the sport. Himaruya has stated that the country's football image is strong. During the Halloween 2011 event, it is revealed that Cameroon is unused to the idea of Halloween, and quickly gives up in trying to participate.
Cameroon debuted within the Christmas 2010 event. He was playing soccer with some children when the ball hit Mr. Mulema's house and, upon going off to retrieve it, he was knocked out and kidnapped. Cameroon surfaces in the same place that Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia are being held, and delivers a message their captor gave him. During the Halloween 2011 event, he shows up at America's party wearing a flamethrower-equipped suit of armor designed by Kokolo, despite concluding earlier that dressing up was too much effort.
- Cameroon's first appearance was in a commemoration sketch for the FIFA 2010 Group E, which also included Netherlands, Japan, and Denmark.
