Buon San Valentino - First Part (ヴァレンティーノ／前編 Varentīno/Zenpen lit. Valentino/First Part) is the first extra episode of Hetalia: The Beautiful World, and the sixth overall in the anime series Hetalia. It was released on DVD on April 24, 2013. It adapts the first part of the Buon San Valentino story from the original webcomic.
Plot Summary
With an Inflexible German
When Germany ends the training, Italy gives him a goodbye hug, which Germany reluctantly takes. He thinks about Italy's actions and wonders what he was thinking. While walking along the street, he sees a book called "Comunicating with your partner," which he buys instantly. The bookstore owner then wonders why this book doesn't sell at all in Italy or Spain but sells so well in Germany.
With an Austrian Who Fakes Innocence
As Germany is reading the book, Austria goes out and tells him that in Austria, tomorrow is the day when men buy gifts for women. Germany doesn't care about that, saying if Austria gets lost and calls him, Germany won't get him. Austria says that he will make it himself, implying that he was planning to get lost.
I'm Studying, You Know
Germany examines the book, which he considers as pretty accurate. He looks for the part for Italian partners, only to find that even the book's author could not understand them either. Austria comes out from a smoky kitchen with his finished cakes and requests Germany to test them. The latter asks how Austria can make those with explosions.
While eating Austria's cakes, Germany asks him about a type of relationship in which "you see them everyday, they hug and kiss you, and go in the bath with you, sleep in the same bed with you while naked." Austria angrily called it as a "vulgar" thing. This makes Germany became depressed, as the other realizes that he was talking about Italy.
With an Overly Easygoing Italian
In a beautiful morning, Italy claims that he was going to do the best training and that today was Valentine's Day. He plans to get something for Germany and Japan and happily takes a bouquet of red roses. He smiles, describing himself as a sexy guy.
Italy and Germany: So Close and Yet So Far
Germany, had been staying up all night, finds out that Italy likes him as a friend. So, he assures himself not to worry anymore. But when Italy gives him the rose bouquet, he quickly gets frustrated and asks what Italy was meaning. The latter's over-natural answer "It means what it means" even confuses Germany more, who asks if Italy had a girl or a first love. Italy replies that he did, much to the other's relief. Nevertheless, he then admits that his first love was a boy, which only horrifies Germany.
Google "Germany" and "Pervert"
Italy suggests Germany playing football with him. At first, Germany agrees, but then he thinks that Italy has confessed his feelings to him and considers how he should answer Italy's feelings. He then shouts "No, it's really bad," thus scaring Italy.
Hides His Name But Not His Mariazell
Hungary receives an anonymous gift. The postman says that it has no name nor address but describes the sender as "a guy with glasses and one hair standing up." Hungary chuckles and says she knew who the sender is.
Going Back Home
Germany returns to the bookstore. He asks for every dating advice book of the store, even those for people of the same sex.
