I suspect this page will be deleted, since there's really not much to say about the random cats in Hetalia. But I've got an idea that could possibly work, if anyone's in favor of reworking the article: Animals in Hetalia? It could possibly cover Germany's dogs, Kuma, Pierre, Prussia's bird, Switzerland's goats, etc.

I don't know. Normal action would be to delete the article, though this idea just popped up on the mind when seeing it. Ceras SanMarina 04:42, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

That's sounds like a good idea to me Ceras. I'll go back and work on it later once I'm awake and have had breakfast : ) CeciN'estPasUnePipe 15:21, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

I kind of like the idea. The animals don't really play a major part, but it would still be really cool to have at least some information on them. The only way you really know about them is if you're a manga-reader, so this could give the anime-watchers a chance...? --Tiamatwizard 17:32, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Whoa! I'm late for the party! But I'm up for the page as well. But it seems someone has already taken care of the move for me. ^_~ Icelilly 19:01, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Oops, sorry for changing Pierrot to Pierre. Just wondering if someone could show me where it says his name is Pierrot and not Pierre? I've always read/heard his(well, their) name(s) was Pierre and no one's corrected me before?--Elegentmess 05:35, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

In fact, can somebody provide the strips/episodes/dramas where any of these animals appear? I don't doubt their existence or anything, but I would like to know where to find them. I'm sure that if we could, it'd also be nice to add to the article.
~ FangzV ( Flame at me here) as said on 12:32, January 5, 2010 (UTC) EEEDDIIIITTT: Also is there an order to this? It looks sort of alphabetical but isn't actually organized in that way. Would it make sense to alphabetize it or what?
Yeah, I'm the master of stupid questions~

-Australia's koala - is seen in the only sketch of Australia (chibi).

-France's birds - Boss Spain's Control of South Italy Part 2 (but it's only in a little one-off) and it says 'Pierrot' BUT In Maria Theresa and the Seven Years War it says Pierre (no. 3)... so... which one is right?

-England's creatures are pretty much everywhere.

-America's whale is first seen in the last strip of Black Ships Have Come. He can be seen again in the first part of Lithuania's Outsourcing, then again in Happy Birthday.

-Prussia's bird is first mentioned in his blog and is seen on Prussia's blog drama cd cover, other than that, not shown in the comic.

-Hanatamago - Su-san and the dog, but I'm sure s/he's seen elsewhere... was it the April Fool's one s/he was talking in?

-Greece's cats - pretty much in every comic Greece is in.

-Iceland's puffin - Wordy Nordic Comic.

-Kumajirou - usually with Canada, mostly in Fly, Canada-san, Fly!

-Germany's dogs - I don't think they're shown, just mentioned?

-Pochi-kun - Why Americans Love Spring

-Poland's pony - Main storyline: Lietuvis!

-Switzerland's goats - not shown in the comic.

I don't know how you want to set this out, but that's the gist of their appearances.--Elegentmess 13:10, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • EM: Hanatamago talked in one of the Christmas strips where she and Finland had a chibi-head dialogue answering reader mail. That was where she said that she wished her name was something normal like Charlotte. Germany's dogs are on the cover of his character CD. The Spie 15:46, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yikes, this article is proving to be pretty popular. I think we should add where the animals appear underneath their section or something, but we defiantly should have it on the page somewhere. As for Pierre vs. Pierrot.... I think we should look at the kana or ask around to decide. Honestly, I like Pierre more, but I'd like to be correct. CeciN'estPasUnePipe 20:27, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

I think Germany was shown with two dogs on a trading card too, though one of them seemed to be a little puppy and didn't look like either of the three that are known. There was an older Christmas strip that had him with a cat and dog, but it seems to have been before the concepts for his dogs got finalized. It would seem he loves having quite the pets! Ceras SanMarina 20:50, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

Looked at the Japanese, it says "Pieeru" both times, so "Pierre" it is. CeciN'estPasUnePipe 23:12, January 5, 2010 (UTC)

What about the kappa and...other-thingy...that England talks to in his visit to Japan?

I noticed when I was updating Hozumi Gōda's page that he does the voice of the kappa, and that got me thinking, "If we added England's, why not Japan's?"

Should we? --Tiamatwizard 18:40, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Does the name of Germany's dog Berlitz come from the word 'Blitz'? Freezeframe 22:13, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • I really wouldn't be surprised... I think it does. --Tiamatwizard 01:20, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

What about Spain's pet bull? He shows up in Boss Spain's control of Southern Italy Part 2 in this strip and in 2008 April Fool's with Spain as a co-host. Tawawawa 18:21, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • Added it myself. Tawawawa 16:36, May 27, 2010 (UTC)

I wouldn't really call the invasion of baby sea turtles as Antonio's pets. They were just found by the pair as the turtles wandered in an southern Italian restaurnt. It's a freak occurance rather than a pet thing. Tawawawa 16:09, May 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • I added them because he actually does keep them, and they do show up later on when Lovino goes back to visit him. Maybe not pets, but they still fit as "creatures that appear in Hetalia". --Tiamatwizard 19:47, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

What should we do with this?

I made a header because the talk page is so goddamn messy but I don't feel right fooling around with the formatting of other people conversing.
I saw this, today.
Should we keep both pages, add a link to this page on that one, or delete this and put it there/delete the animals there and keep them all here?
~ FangzV ( Flame at me here) as said on 20:50, January 30, 2010 (UTC)
xxxxx

I say we delete the animals there, keep this one, and add a link there to here.

That was confusing. Excuse the major font effects. I seriously got a headache there for some reason. --Tiamatwizard 17:55, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Clean-Up?

I've just checked out this page and now that images have been added to the page, it looks messy and cramped. How about we add the images to a gallery at the the bottom of the page like in the Uniform Guide pages. Anyone up for this? Icelilly 19:16, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. Watermint 19:43, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Please, because the table code works, but not that well... D:

I tried. --Tiamatwizard 23:24, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

A Limit?

Before this becomes an issue, I figure we might as well get it out of the way.

Is there any limit in which we can add to this page? Or is this the way we're gonna go:

  • Any animal/creautre/...thing that shows up, we put here.
  • If said animal/creature/thing has shown up only once, we still add it here.
  • If it's mentioned, it goes here.

...? Meh.

I just have a feeling this page is going to get very messy someday... --Tiamatwizard 01:47, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

I think it should be limited to creatures with actual importance or that are recurring. I don't see the point in adding mentioned charactrers, unless they are mentioned frequently. For example, if Scotland was a character and a recurring gag was his relationship/fear/etc. with/of the Loch Ness Monster, then we could add what was available about the creature to this article. However, if a random strip mentions that Belgium has a pet dog, then no need (it can be mentioned in her article, rather than a list of characters). For creatures that show up once, we can decide on a creature-to-creature basis. The random dog that Italy and his army start petting when Germany is trying to train them warrants no mention, but Netherlands' rabbit (who, with Pochi, is the main focus of a strip) would be fine. Watermint 15:54, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

I agree, the creatures should be limited to only the important ones rather than just background doodles or off-handed mentions, especially for those who have never actually appeared in the strips. Tawawawa 16:13, May 27, 2010 (UTC)

Egypt's Pet/Tony

Shouldn't that weird llama/camel thing Egypt has be added? Also, what about Tony? 67.220.6.50 03:32, May 23, 2010 (UTC)the-dancing-onigiri

I'll fix that right away, kay? :D Sorry 'bout that!

  • Camel? I haven't heard about that one... Can you give us some info to work with? I might be able to add it tonight, too.

...I've seen you around before, I'm sure of it... You should make an account. :) You edit often enough. --Tiamatwizard 03:47, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Well, nice to see you around, then~

Ah, that camel. I always thought it was just there (because it's, well, Egypt), but if he actually does show up in a strip with Egypt, I don't see why not. :) --Tiamatwizard 19:47, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

The mochi

Any chance of them getting an entry here? (Or their own page, so as to accurately know which ones are canon?) Because Estonia's page doesn't really cover them, and I can't tell which designs are canon or fanon. SOLDIER #98.15.167.136 06:16, 14 January 2012 (EST)

Yep! We're considering giving the Mochis their own separate page (hence why they're aren't here) since they've had more screen time and such in the last year. It's when we're going to get into actually making the page is the question. XD It's on the to-do list! Icelilly 08:03, 14 January 2012 (EST)

Flying Mint Bunny

Can anyone verify that Himaruya calls it "Yousei-san"? Someone added this in but I don't remember him ever stating that. Icelilly 16:50, 22 January 2012 (EST)

Fucking

"It is said that spies from all over the world were searching for the lost UFO, a very mysterious case. By the way, in Lithuania’s Out-Sourcing Series, you can see their older colleague Fucking."

That's from the Chronology(linking to the Roswell Incident strips) and the only other notable character there is the alien.

The Alien in Lithuania's Outscorching also had a little name-card(it wasn't translated, so I didn't notice it until today when I was going looking for something) that says ファッキン which is, you gussed it, Fucking. So is this Alien's name Tony or not? Or is his name actually Fucking but America calls him Tony? Or maybe Fucking is the first alien America met and Tony is a different one? Or do we know at all(which I don't think we do?)

Maybe his name is Fucking Tony.

From what I remember, Tony would only say fucking and other swear words (with the exception of his appearance in Paint it White), though America seems able to interpret this as speech? (I'm a little rusty on this character though so I could be wrong). As with the Outsourcing appearance IDEK. Maybe note the ambiguity of it? -FH14 09:30, 12 September 2012 (EST)
