This pairing involves the characters of Japan and Italy. Usually in fan media, Japan does not accept Italy's feelings. It is not very popular within the English-speaking fandom, but is relatively popular in the Japanese-speaking fandom.

Its origin may have sparked from the historical fact that Japan and Italy have one of the closest relationships in history. The term, 枢軸お花組 (Suujiku Ohanagumi), Axis Flower Pair, is used in the Japanese fandom.
