The forty-third episode of Hetalia: World Series (ninety-fifth overall) was broadcast on February 4, 2011. It adapts The First Invocation of Poland Rule ! from the third published volume.

Plot Summary

The First Time Poland Rule Was Used!

The episode starts off with a quick overview of the 15th Century European powers: Denmark, the "Brave of the North", the Teutonic Knights (Prussia), the Golden Horde, the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), and the Holy Roman Empire. The next scene shows the king of Lithuania mulling over their next actions. He comments that Lithuania always comes back bruised and battered, and curses the Teutonic Knights. Lithuania apologizes and promises to become stronger as soon as possible, but his king announces that he has decided to form a marriage alliance with another country.

Meanwhile, in Poland, the blonde country is freaking out over the news of an alliance, commenting on how scary strangers are. His queen shares his fears. His fear of allying having taken him over, Poland bursts into tears in his queen's arms. Shortly after this, they get news of Lithuania's arrival. Poland quickly regains his composure and sits at the throne confidently.

Lithuania, along with king and guard, nervously enters the throne room. Poland, looking down at him, comments about how he has had knowledge of their coming for quite some time now, and that their journey must have been arduous. He then introduces himself as Poland, the current ruling country of Eastern Europe.

The other country, struggling to control his shyness, eventually gets out that his name is Lithuania, and that he has come to discuss a marriage proposal between the two nations. Poland remarks that an alliance at this point would be beneficial both now and in the future. After an awkward pause, he suddenly asks for Lithuania to show him his penis. Lithuania, shocked, wonders if this is Polish baptism.

At this point, the narrator proceeds to explain that, at the beginning of the 14th Century, Poland had finally unified once more after a long split and had begun a golden age under Casmir III. Eventually, after the death of Casmir and the appointing of Jadwiga, the Teutonic Knights had grown so strong that Poland had begun looking for allies to stop them. Sharing the same interests as Poland, Jagiello, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, and Jadwiga are married, and the two countries joined in the Union of Krewo, which would last until 1572.
