Japan (日本, Nihon, Nippon) is a main character in the series Hetalia: Axis Powers. He is a part of the Axis Powers. In 2008, Himaruya gave human names to some of the characters and he received the name Honda Kiku (本田菊).

Attributes
Appearance
He is a short, slim man with black hair, flatly-colored dark brown eyes, and is often depicted wearing a white naval uniform with black and gold accents. His first appearance in both the anime and the published manga shows him briefly wearing a more ornate version, with gold epaulets and frog clasps down in the front of the jacket. When he first appeared in the webcomic, he wore a standard gray/black uniform until sometime after joining the Axis. Despite that he looks young, he's actually quite an old man.

In some of Himaruya's official art, his hair is dark brown and his eyes are a lighter brown.

Personality and Interests
A shy, quiet and hard-working man, Japan doesn't know very much about the outside world and needs time to adjust to other people. But he's very curious and interested in learning things from other nations. His distinct island customs may seem mysterious to others, although he finds them perfectly normal. He tends to have the behavior of an "old man" and was a hikikomori for a long time (Japan had spent about 250 years in isolation keeping only contact with Netherlands). Though he appears to be horrified at the idea of nudity or intimate contact, he has erotic woodcuts in his possession, which he tries to hide secretly between his non-erotic books and was said to be very comfortable with nudity in the past. Japan also voiced his preference for 2D girls over 3D girls to England, Greece, and France in one strip, hinting that he has an otaku side. His otaku side is further shown when he decides to buy a Shonen Jump magazine in his preparations for the New Year.

Japan seems to be fond of food in general, very similar to China's fondness, his country's food in particular, as evidenced by his annoyance of having his salted salmon taken off Germany's diet plan. He expressed dismay at the increase of the price of eggs due to a bad economy. He also had the urge to touch the Italy brothers' ahoges due to them reminding him of vegetables. It is said that cockroaches are one of the things that Japan hates the most, to the extent where he could cry over them. Although he appears relatively calm most of the time, it is suggested that his anger would be the "scariest". However, it is shown that it's hard for him to get that angry, as he is mostly able to only summon an "unpleasant feeling".

He loves animals, especially cats, and owns a white dog called Pochi that resembles an Akita or Shiba Inu, both Japanese breeds. Some say it may be a Japanese Spitz due to his white and fluffy fur in some sketches and fanarts. He also eventually gets a rabbit and a guinea pig. He tends to have a weakness for things that are soft and fluffy.

When Prussia came over in attempt to clean his home, he'd already cleaned it by nine in the morning, causing him to explain that, in his old age, for enjoyment, he tends to tend to Bonsai trees, clean, gaze, play video games, read Shounen Jump, tend to Pochi-kun's fur, go for walks, draw manga, and make soba. As these are very relaxed and simple things, Prussia remarked that he must have fun every day.

Relationships
America
Main Article: America

Japan first meets America in Black Ships have Come, when he is basically forced to accept America onto his formerly isolated island. Agitated at first, Japan eventually confessed his fear of not being able to get along with other countries to America in Japan and the footsteps of Westernization. With the help of "table turning", America is able to assure Japan that he will be fine.

In modern-day strips, these two get along well, sharing a love of technology and video games, and are frequently at each others' houses to play them together. In the Hetalia Fantasia series, America and Japan have created a video game together, in HF2 America says that, for a limited time only, when fighting enemies a colored hamburger has the possibility of falling out, with Japan stating that collecting all seven colors enables them to buy bunny ears. Japan has also apparently learned how to appease a crying, devastated America, as in HF2 he offers him "some candy that old ladies always carry with them but you don't know where they buy them from", calming America down. When asked about his method, he replied "It is a technique native only to Japan!" At times, Japan does remark about it being difficult to handle the younger country, but still continues to be in his company. It has been said that Japan always sides with America's descisions.

Differences between the American and Japanese culture and lifestyle are often explored using these two, such as in Traits of Japanese People that America-Kuns Have Noticed, and Why Americans Love Spring.

China
Main Article: China

After being discovered by China as a small child, Japan was raised by the older man, who taught him how to use kanji (which Japan used to create the hiragana alphabet). One day, Japan turned against China and attacked him with a katana, leaving a disfiguring scar on China's back. From this point, the two were enemies in war, and China despaired over how war had changed Japan.

It can be inferred from a reference made about the Battle of Keichou that their relations were already starting to strain before the betrayal, combined with their differing views and Japan's vow to "become stronger". It is also to be noted that while China considered Japan a younger brother, Japan himself denied there being such a connection when asked.

England
Main Article: England

The two nations are often shown to get quite along well. Despite not having much in common, Japan suggests they can be lonely together, as both of them do not have many friends. It is shown that throughout the course of the Anglo-Japanese alliance they were extremely loyal to each other, particularly with England going out of his way to make his decisions not only based on what would help himself but what could best benefit Japan as well. Though pitted against each other in World War 2, Japan and England are still seen to have a good friendship in present day, and enjoy spending time together.

Germany
Main Article: Germany

Japan and Germany get along relatively well, and tend to be the only ones who adapt to the situation while joined together as the Axis Powers. Japan had known Germany for some time (as depicted in the original strips), although Germany said he can never tell what Japan has in mind.

Greece
Main Article: Greece

The two nations have a very friendly relation and multiple strips can be seen of them visiting each other or bonding over their mutual love of cats. Their relationship could be associated with the real-life Greco-Japan diplomatic relationship, which started in 1899. It is implied in Lazy Comic Country that they slept together when Japan stated he had no "experience", and Greece said he'd fix that. He then woke up naked in bed with Greece, though Japan has denied that anything happened between them, believing that it was only a dream.

Italy
Main Article: Italy

The two became acquainted with each other as part of the Axis, though Italy had once had a dream where he met a younger Japan.

Japan is shown to often be unnerved by Italy's "shameless" and unusual behavior, even as going as far as to order him to "take responsibility" and marry him after having been hugged and kissed. Italy's erotic driving had also inspired him to invent safer cars. The two have been shown to have a mutual respect of each others' history and artwork, and seem to be friends.

Korea
Main Article: Korea

They do not get along very well. S. Korea claims to hate Japan but often can be seen copying Japan's style and taking credit for others' work. He also has an unusual obsession with grabbing Japan's breasts, with the belief that they belong to him (though he once expressed interest in China's). At one point he wanted to dig a tunnel to connect their houses, but his plan did not succeed.

When asked about his complicated feelings, S. Korea claimed that he invented tsundere. It is unclear in the strips of what their relations were when they were younger, other than S. Korea mentioning that Japan had bullied him (and vowing to find proof to settle a bet).

Prussia
Main article: Prussia

While their only canonical meeting was in Prussia's Cleaning game, in which he helps him clean after Japan misinterpreted his demands as enthusiasm, Himaruya has stated that their relationship is near inseparable, and that it was something he wanted to show in Prussia's April Fools blog, but didn't get to. It's also notable, that Japan calls him "Prussia-kun", emphasizing this. Prussia possibly goes to Japan's house very often, as he said that he "usually" has tea and manjuu when he goes. When they finished cleaning, to show his gratitude, Japan gave him the cakes he had previously been asking for, however the work exhausted Prussia, so he could "only" eat 34.

Also stated in the game, was Prussia's enjoyment of reading manga(he had attempted to learn to draw his own, but he sneezed and abandoned the project), something he possibly got from befriending Japan.

Russia
Main Article: Russia

In the Lietuvis strips, Japan is shown to abhor Russia, his grudge stemming as far back as the Russo-Japanese War (although he defeated him, he wound up using up his life savings and became poor). After hearing of the alliance between Russia and Germany, Japan became distraught, claiming "That man is a monster created by fallout from nuclear tests! He tears down buildings! He breathes fire!" When Germany insists on continuing his relationship with Russia, Japan makes a resolution to dissolve himself and to become known as Minami-Centrair. This is loosely based off of an event that happened where the whole Japanese cabinet resigned due to the increasingly good relations between Russia and Germany.

During Russia's visit to Germany's house, Japan made many attempts to get revenge:

*Put caltrops on his seat, but failed as Russia noticed them and did not sit down.

*Hid in the ceiling and attempted to harpoon him, only to miss and for Russia to shake him down, revealing his hiding place.

*Placed an object (possibly an explosive or needle) in an ohagi in hopes that Russia would eat it, only for him to eat it and remain unaffected.

More Like Gamba Vs. Noroi shows that Russia was able to curse Japan and make him fall ill from simply staring at him, an allusion to when Japan was effected by the Great Kantou earthquake.

South Italy (Romano)
Main Article: South Italy

Though they have yet to meet in any of the actual strips, Himaruya has stated that they would both get along rather well and that Japan would refer to the other as "Romano-kun" (after initially "-san").

Taiwan
Main Article: Taiwan

Taiwan has a great preference for Japan, much to China's dismay; this probably stems from the fact that, in reality, the island of Taiwan was annexed by the Japanese government, an event yet to be addressed in the comics. In the strip Ilha Formosa ~Beautiful Island~, she is shown hanging out with Japan and discussing Taiwanese fortune-telling, and during the Halloween 2011 event, she is excited to show Japan her costume.

Turkey
Main Article: Turkey

Turkey seems to have a soft spot for Japan, and Japan, in turn, has mutual respect for him. In one strip, Turkey starts fighting with Greece when he sees the two together, presuming Greece wanted to take over Japan. Turkey also threatened France on April Fool's with 'Don't you dare try anything on Japan. Or else I'll invade you.'

Appearances
Anime
Japan first appears in Episode 01 at the "Meeting Of The World", where he agrees with America's ridiculous solution for global warming. He is also given an official cameo at the end of Episode 03 as a teaser before he is formally introduced in Episode 04.

In Episode 06, while stranded on an island, Japan suggests to Germany that they call their team "Suujiku" (枢軸) (Axis); eine Achse in German, and un Asse in Italian.

Since the anime is based more off the published version of the manga than the original webcomic, Japan does not wear his black uniform in his introduction, instead wearing the decorative version of his naval suit before he becomes part of the Axis Powers. He is also depicted in his WWII naval suit in instances where he originally wore other clothing in the equivalent manga strips.

Trivia
*His birthday (February 11th) corresponds to the date of National Foundation Day in Japan, which celebrates the foundation of Japan in 660 BC by Emperor Jimmu.
*Though his exact age is unknown and Himaruya listed it as a "secret", some Japanese fans consider him to be approximately 2,670 years old.
*Although being younger than China, Japan has expressed his old age on more than one occasion. In Salted Salmon, Germany and I, Japan explains how he no longer enjoys his birthday, suffers from high blood pressure which causes him to wake up early and wander his neighborhood, and has hip pains.
*In one published strip it is shown he sees the world as an RPG, another hint at his otaku nature.
*According to Himaruya, Japan would most likely have the blood type A (due to it being a common blood type in Japan).
*As Hetalia was originally planned as a one chapter story, Himaruya did not expect Japan to become a popular character and drew him as a type of character he didn't often utilize, with "soulless" eyes. He noted that if he had known the series would become bigger, the design would have been drastically different.

There are many animals that appear in Hetalia: Axis Powers. This article includes information about the characters' pets and other animals that appear in the series.

By country
America
When ordered to "go make friends" in Japan, America befriended this whale. Later, it is shown to be living in a pool in America's backyard. It has a fondness for Lithuania, much to Tony's jealousy. It's a rather strange-looking whale as Himaruya's referred to it as being "unidentifiable." A white, fluffy cat is shown as America's pet in Why Americans Love Spring. Another cat that resembles its master (down to a "Nantucket" hair) is shown in some Nekotalia sketches and in a panel in volume 3's fake summary of events. Possibly inspired by the pun on his name (usa, which looks similar to U.S.A, means "bunny" in Japanese), young America is often shown either holding or playing with a brown and white rabbit. America also takes care of a unicorn that "flew out of the forest" to meet him(though England also gave him a unicorn for his birthday, and it's unknown if it's the same one.) He actually cannot see the unicorn, but he manages to take care of it. Tony sees the unicorn as a rival.

Australia
In his introductory sketches, Australia is shown to own an angry-looking koala. It's possible this is a joking reference to Australian "drop bears".

Cameroon
Cameroon is revealed to have a pet lion cub named Kokolo in his appearance in the special edition booklet of Hetalia: Axis Powers volume 3. In the Halloween 2011 event, it is revealed that Kokolo is a University of Glasgow fine arts graduate.

Canada
Kumajirou is a small white bear who belongs to Canada. He is known for saying "who are you?" to canada and rarely says anything else. However, it's said no one can get his name right. He's very apathetic but might be good at taking care of people. He is most likely a Polar bear, though some fans hypothesize he may be a Kermode bear instead. This has not been confirmed one way or another in the manga, although in one piece of art Germany does mistake Kumajirou for Knut (a baby polar bear from Germany), lending support to that idea and supporting peoples' difficulty to remember his name. Kumajiro is voiced by Ai Iwamura.

China
China has a panda that he often carries around with him in a bamboo basket that he slings over his back, according to a recent blog post, it is always a different one. China has also been seen with a life-sized panda that he calls Mr. Panda. But the panda was replaced by a giant kitty on Christmas BECAUSE CHINA IS AN ASS!!!!!

England
In some comics, a younger version of England is shown to have had a rabbit that followed him around. However, MY ASS FELL FROM THE SKY AND CRUSHED IT UNTIL IT WAS DEAD! That was the day england grew his first dick

Finland
Finland and, by extension, Sweden, own Hanatamago, a small white dog. She is able to talk in Christmas specials, where she once wished she had a normal name like 'Charlotte', and that she didn't like the things that Finland feeds her. A recent blog post described her as friendly, bright, calm, and fluffy.

France
France has several small birds, all named Pierre, who are used to send letters and messages to Spain and other nations. Italy commented on Prussia's blog and asked if his bird could do the same. They are all voiced by Ai Orikasa.

Germany
Germany has three dogs shown and named in canon: Woof, Bark, and Bow Wow, all three of which are mentioned in his version of Hatafutte Parade. Woo is believed to be a Dachshund, Bark is a male German Shepherd, and Bow Wow appears to be a Hovawart. All of his dogs are said to be particularly wild and enjoy running around in the hills and will often get dirty minds because of it. Aster appears to be friendly with Luxembourg's dog.

A fourth, unnamed dog and its puppy have been shown in the trading card set. They appear to be Dalmatians. Germany is depicted in Red Panties with a dog, as well as a black cat voiced by: Aki Kanada. He is later shown to own a really fat cat cat that has a personality much like his own, identified as Germany-ass and voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto.

Greece
Greece has many cats that live in his house and follow him around, parodying the large amount of stray cats found in Greece. Most of them are not named, as Japan found out while talking to Greece.

Iceland
Iceland is often drawn with a puffin-like bird, who claims to be his mascot. He follows Iceland and eats fish, however he's been shown eating licorice with Iceland, and sang with Iceland about drinking Brennivín. In the volume 3 special booklet, he is briefly mentioned in notes accompanying artwork with Iceland, where Himaruya states that his name is Mr. Puffin. He is differentiated from other puffins with his black belly and red bow tie. It is said that Mr. Puffin may look cute, but he speaks and acts like a mafioso. He is haughty and attempts to take credit for things he did not do, and prides himself on how cute he is, expecting compliments from people, especially Iceland. He gets offended whenever he's told otherwise. In a recent blog post, he was described as being devious, cute but with a foul mouth, and someone who roams around a lot. It's said his relationship with Iceland is "interesting." Mr. Puffin is voiced by Masaya Onosaka.

Japan
Pochi (or Pochi-kun), is a small brown (sometimes colored white) fluffy Shiba dog that belongs to Japan. He is often shown with his master, and has appeared in a sketch with Hanatamago and another with one of France's Pierres. It is revealed in a later strip that Pochi is as reserved as his master, becoming angered when Netherlands's pet rabbit licked him and ordering it to take responsibility. He's apparently rather manly for such a small dog. He tends to follow people around. Pochi is voiced by Aki Kanada.

Netherlands
In one strip, Netherlands is shown to have a pet rabbit with a heart-shaped spot on its back. Character notes reveal it to be a Holland Lop. The rabbit is able to communicate with Pochi, and reveals that its master has become lonely due to the conflict with Belgium. Further character notes reveal it to be lazy and not like leaving the house much and that it sleeps a lot. It loves to have the base of it's ears scratched.

New Zealand
New Zealand has been drawn with a sheep on the Hetalia World Map from volume 3 of the manga. It parodies the fact that there are more sheep in New Zealand than there are people. In a recent design sketch of New Zealand, he is shown to be holding a kiwi, a small bird that is native to New Zealand.

Lithuania
Lithuania as a child owned a little brown dog, he says it is usually quiet, but when they met Russia, it couldn't help but to bark at him. It was then calmed down by its owner.

Luxembourg
Pelze is Luxembourg's small, somewhat EXTREMELY FAT dog that first appeared in the Halloween 2011 strip. Pelze means "furs" in German. Character notes reveal that she is soft, kind, and doesn't bark much. Unlike many other animals, she can't speak human languages, as well. She's friendly with one of Germany's dogs, presumably Aster.

Poland
Poland first reveals he has a pony to France and England when they ask him if he has made preparations for a fight against Germany. He also appears with this pony in the film, though both wind up attacked and transformed by the Pict aliens. The pony is voiced by Masaya Onosaka.

Prussia
Prussia has a small yellow bird, which often rides on his head. He didn't know about the bird until he started a blog and someone emailed him about it. The bird does not have an official name. However, it is referred to by much of the English-speaking fandom as "Gilbird," referring to Prussia's human name, Gilbert. Other sketches have shown him to have several of the birds. In the anime, a bird used to send a letter to Austria is shown to be this same type of bird and communicates by making angry grunts (as opposed to the peeping birds in the drama CD). Prussia's bird is voiced by Atsushi Kousaka.

Russia
In the Nekotalia strips in volume 3, Russia is shown to own a large cat that somewhat resembles him, right down to his prominent nose. It attempts to make friends with the Italy brothers' cats, though Belarus's cat becomes very jealous. In the 2008 April 1st strip, we see Spain reporting on strange international news. Towards the beginning, he mentions that rabbits had retreated to the mountains very suddenly. The strip includes a picture of Russia happily petting one of these rabbits.

Sealand
In a recent image profile of Sealand, he is seen with a seagull to his right wearing a sailor's cap that is a little different than Sealand's hat.
he also has a goat that he rides while cleaning

Spain
A small bull sometimes shows up alongside Spain to aid him. The bull charged into the Ottoman Empire's carriage after to break Romano free and was later used to carry him back home. He also attacked France from behind during The Battle of Garigliano. During the April Fool's fake news report, the bull sat next to Spain with his own name tag that reads as "cattle" or "cow". The bull is voiced by Keikou Sakai.

Switzerland
Eiger, Jungfrau, and Mönch are the names of Switzerland's pet goats, all named after Swiss mountains. He is pictured with one on the official Hetalia calendar. They're docile but apparently have a big attitude.

Thailand
According to a recent blog entry, Thailand has a male elephant named Toto, whom he dotes on ridiculously to the point of it being overweight. The elephant also has a fluffy speech pattern, especially when compared to Iceland's puffin.

Others
England's Magical Creatures
England has various magical creatures that appear before him, such as fairies, pixies, unicorns, and a little winged rabbit. Fanon has suggested various different names for his unicorn, and the green flying fairy-rabbit suggested as being Arthur's magical familiar, or even a pooka. In the English dub, he refers to the fairy rabbit as "Flying Mint Bunny", indicating that the rabbit has no real name in either version (although it has been reported that Himaruya calls the rabbit Yousei-san (妖精さん), or fairy in English).

Japan's Magical Creatures
*Voiced by: Hozumi Gōda (Kappa), Takahiro Mizushima (Youkai/"Onion Head"), and Yuki Kaida (Zashiki-warashi)

Along with England, Japan also has a number of magical creatures, including a kappa, a youkai (in this case, a talking onion-headed creature), and a zashiki-warashi. In Episode 30, England is able to see and even talk to these creatures. They explain that back in the day, some humans feared them while others believed in them and could see them, Japan included. However, in the new era, nobody acknowledges their existence anymore and they have become mere superstition. They also mention that they used to have conversations with Japan, but, like everyone else, he has stopped believing in their existence.

Kitty
*Voiced by: Aki Kanada

Kitty is a brown cat that appeared with Italy in Episode 13, and again with Japan in Episode 19, as well as some random points in the anime and manga. It also appears in Hetalia: Axis Powers: Paint it, White. In the dub, Italy also refers to it as 'Pooky', or spelled as 'Pookie', and mentions that it is female.
Woof
Woof is one of Germany's dog. he is one of the most noticed dogs EVER

Norway's Magical Creatures
Norway is shown to have creature companions from Norse mythology. He's often drawn with a troll or a chubby green pixie/fairy, but is said to also have a nisse.

Pict Aliens
*Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi

A species of aliens that appear in the film Hetalia: Axis Powers: Paint it, White. They are all white and featureless figures with an antenna protruding from their heads, with no discernible differences to tell them apart as they act as a hive mind; their princess, however, can take a more defined, human-like shape. Those exposed to the light produced by the Pict are transformed into them and become part of the hive, though the stronger a person's happiness is, the more resistance they have to being fully converted.

Tony
*Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto (drama CD), Ai Orikasa (anime)

An alien who came to live with America after the Roswell Incident. He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" but in the dubbed version, tony said "limey bastard" BUT THATS THE SAME FUCKING THING('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British'). He seems to be quite fond of Lithuania, though, trying to abduct him with a spaceship and getting jealous whenever he spends more time with America's whale. In one of the mini dramas, he ends his sentences with "bubu". He also appears to have knowledge about other planets and aliens, as shown in Hetalia: Axis Powers: Paint it, White .

Turtles
When Spain was out at a restaurant with Romano, he attempted to cheer him up by exclaiming that even the turtles were worried over him, causing Romano to discover that turtles were inside the restaurant. Spain then wondered what they should name the turtles, though a policeman ordered him to give them back.

The turtles have appeared in a short clip of Episode 92.

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').

However, it might very well be a hare rather than a rabbit, judging by its size and long, shaggy ears (rabbits have shorter ears than hares). Unlike rabbits, hares are native to England.

Luxembourg
Pelze is Luxembourg's small, somewhat chubby dog that first appeared in the Halloween 2011 strip.

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').

Creatures of Hetalia

Panda.

England
In some comics, a younger version of England is shown to have had a rabbit that followed him around. However, it might very well be a hare rather than a rabbit, judging by its size and long, shaggy ears (rabbits have shorter ears than hares). Unlike rabbits, hares are native to England.

Luxembourg
Pelze is Luxembourg's small, somewhat chubby dog that first appeared in the Halloween 2011 strip.

A small bull sometimes shows up alongside Spain to aid him. The bull charged into the Ottoman Empire's carriage after to break Romano free and was later used to carry him back home. He also attacked France from behind during The Battle of Garigliano. During the April Fool's fake news report, the bull sat next to Spain with his own name tag that reads as "cattle" or "cow". The bull is voiced by Keikou Sakai.

Luxembourg
Pelze is Luxembourg's small, somewhat chubby dog that first appeared in the Halloween 2011 strip.

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').

Creatures of Hetalia

178.76.155.96: /* Germany */

Panda.

England
In some comics, a younger version of England is shown to have had a rabbit that followed him around. However, it might very well be a hare rather than a rabbit, judging by its size and long, shaggy ears (rabbits have shorter ears than hares). Unlike rabbits, hares are native to England.

All of his dogs are said to be particularly wild and enjoy running around in the hills and will often get dirty because of it.

America also takes care of a unicorn that "flew out of the forest" to meet him(though England also gave him a unicorn for his birthday, and it's unknown if it's the same one.) He actually cannot see the unicorn, but he manages to take care of it. Tony sees the unicorn as a rival.

This has not been confirmed one way or another in the manga, although in one piece of art Germany does mistake Kumajirou for Knut (a baby polar bear from Germany), lending support to that idea and supporting peoples' difficulty to remember his name. Kumajiro is voiced by Ai Iwamura.

Prussia's bird is voiced by Atsushi Kousaka.

Russia
Tony
*Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto (drama CD), Ai Orikasa (anime)

An alien who came to live with America after the Roswell Incident.

Panda.

England
In some comics, a younger version of England is shown to have had a rabbit that followed him around. However, it might very well be a hare rather than a rabbit, judging by its size and long, shaggy ears (rabbits have shorter ears than hares). Unlike rabbits, hares are native to England.

===Germany===
Germany has three dogs shown and named in canon: Woof, Bark, and Bow Wow, all three of which are mentioned in his version of Hatafutte Parade. All of his dogs are said to be particularly wild and enjoy running around in the hills and will often get dirty because of it.

He is later shown to own a deep gray cat that has a personality much like his own, identified as Germany-cat and voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto.

Panda.

England
In some comics, a younger version of England is shown to have had a rabbit that followed him around. However, it might very well be a hare rather than a rabbit, judging by its size and long, shaggy ears (rabbits have shorter ears than hares). Unlike rabbits, hares are native to England.

Germany
Germany has three dogs shown and named in canon: Blackie, Berlitz, and Aster, all three of which are mentioned in his version of Hatafutte Parade. Blackie is believed to be a Dachshund, Berlitz is a male German Shepherd, and Aster appears to be a Hovawart. All of his dogs are said to be particularly wild and enjoy running around in the hills and will often get dirty because of it.

He is later shown to own a deep gray cat that has a personality much like his own, identified as Germany-cat and voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto.

Luxembourg
Pelze is Luxembourg's small, somewhat chubby dog that first appeared in the Halloween 2011 strip.

He seems to have hated England ever since they first met, going as far as to call him a "fucking limey" ('limey' being a negative slang term for 'British').
