Do you have the post where Himaruya talks about a Czechia-Liectenstein relationship? I don't recall him ever mentioning it. :/ -FH14 03:42, 5 June 2012 (EST)

I don't.  :|a Vysnia_cerasus(if they're still around?) might have it, but this post( also says it was from the '06 blog and I don't know if we still have access to those backups? I'm adding some information I found from there since I ran into that particular post while scrolling through my bookmarks. (It's weird--I got a notification for an edit here, but in the past when edits were made to pages I'm watching I never got any emails about it.  :|a But that's offtopic.) Tarafishes 03:51, 5 June 2012 (EST)

Belatedly remembered my password to this thing. Um, hi! I don't know what entry the Czechia-Liechtenstein relationship trivia came from. It's something that circulated around from Japanese fandom. Someone like Eruraito might've known, but she seems to be out of Hetalia last I checked? The old "possible characters to appear in Hetalia" 2ch threads had that information, but they didn't say what month or year. It might have been '06 or '07 though. Sorry for the inconvenience! (it's also a shame Megalodon crashed and lost some archives) Black-Noto 04:18, 12 September 2012 (EST)

Popping in to note that someone (I think its in the thread listed above) posted some of the lost archives that they had saved for personal use before the crash happened. Not sure if the info is in them or not. :/ -FH14 09:34, 12 September 2012 (EST)

I downloaded most of the logs (one link is broken though) yesterday but couldn't get half the stuff to open (but knowing my luck it's probably just me having those problems).

But not all might be lost! Over the weekend, I couldn't sleep so just for the hell of it I put the website through Supposedly it hasn't worked in the past but sure enough it did and I THINK I might of found a couple of the 07' logs (here:*/*). I couldn't find any trivia but some of the pages are so long (like 11gatu.htm) that it could be buried somewhere in the massive walls of text. Hopefully maybe we can grab something out of this! Icelilly 03:19, 13 September 2012 (EST)

We need to change HRE's height! Himaruya said Chibitalia is 7 apples tall, then that HRE was 7 apples and a mandarin orange tall. . . .how tall is a mandarin orange? (´・ω・`)a

Anyway, I'll go on a hunt for things for a while. o/ Hopefully I'll run into things. Tarafishes 04:06, 13 September 2012 (EST)

Huh. We have access to all of the gatus(that is, they weren't deleted) except 11, and everything from I think 8-10 is gone on both sites.  ;;

Oh, I did find the page with the description of the gakuen Hetalia uniforms, though! The images are broken, but I found them on getuploader. Haha, he even talked about the popular ways for gitls to wear them. The backs of the GakuHeta girls' dresses are corset-style, so it used to be popular to wear them really tight. Now nobody really regulates it and some girls completely remove the corsety strings! Or something. The blazers and sweaters are for winter. Some of the girls get sweaters from boys, so they have much larger ones. The swearers come in three colors(black, dark brown, and white) but the skirts are always red. However, the lengths differ, and some get really short(due to lack of regulation?? Or something.) But that's just Europe Class.

. . .anyway, back to searching. o/ Tarafishes 06:05, 13 September 2012 (EST)

Scratch that, 1gatu isn't there, 12gatu(FROM 2006!?) is gone, and everything from 7-10 is missing.

Wikinet stopped working when I tried to mention it before, but there's another 2008 blog the pictures are missing, though. Luxembourg first gets mentioned here, though merely than when he'll show up in correlation to the rest of the BeNeLux is far off. When I first accessed it, the format was messed up, so I didn't try and read much, but it seems to be working better now. You probably knew about this already, though.

Back to looking. Tarafishes 07:33, 13 September 2012 (EST)

Oh cool! You got it to work!! I found that link inside one of the logs but couldn't get to open it so I never mentioned it. Ah this is exciting! I'll try to help out too. I can only use Google Translate though which I doubt will be much help. ;; Icelilly 08:57, 13 September 2012 (EST)

o; It's weird about links sometimes! Like, I tried to get to one of the gatu pages manually, and it acted like it wasn't there, but when I clicked a link it worked fine. . .but, yeah, it works! I'm done going through the archive pages--most all of them are comics and things of that nature, so I didn't find anything new.  ;; Or, er, old. That we were looking for. So maybe I'll start with that blog soon. Tarafishes 09
11, 13 September 2012 (EST)

The way it's saved makes finding anything really troublesome. . .but I managed to look through what they had and I didn't find anything else.  ;; It was hard to find the Luxembourg bit again because it was saved from a different date and there was no way to access it besides going to that particular page on that day(I think we're missing a lot of information that way. . . .) but I managed to find it again, at least. Just ctrl+f(or your computer's equivalent) "gizmodo" and you'll be taken to the area of whitetext it's hidden in. It's the first question(so the space above the link.)

Aaand I'm going to take a nap and rest my eyes, now! XD Tarafishes 09:47, 13 September 2012 (EST)

I know what you mean! It's really weird how the pages were saved and pages 2 to 5 are completely messed up on my end that they weren't readable. I went through what I could and might have found two things though its difficult to say (though my message to you didn't go through /sobs). It probably doesn't mean much though:

  • We Minikyara Russia's and amusing.

I learned the difference between a pannier and petticoat with it. Su's car is ふ Pannier, seems petticoats pretend pretend visible from beneath. (ロシアさんとゆかいなミニキャラ達。 それとパニエとペチコートの違いを教えてもらいました。 ふくるますのがパニエで、下から見えるふりふりはペチコートらしい。) (I honestly have no clue if this is Hetalia-related but I found it on page 7; February 2, 2008. Seems to show up again on page 2 but the layout is extremely bonky. There's an image that goes with this but of course it's deleted)

  • Germany is a character that is harmful tinkering. (ドイツはいじりがいがあるキャラだ。) (Found on page 10; March 5, 2008)

Thank you so much for taking the time to go through all those links! ;o; That must of been tedious! You get some rest girl! I'll check out the link a bit later! Icelilly 14:24, 13 September 2012 (EST)

All rested up! \o/ Though, I have a stomachache from drinking milk(which I'm not supposed to do because my stomach can't handle it, but if it won't kill me I'll deal with it! We haven't tried lactose-free milk yet) so I might roll back to bed eventually, but i should be fine.

ロシアさんとゆかいなミニキャラ達。 Mr. Russia and happy mini characters. (that is, chibi drawings, of course.) それとパニエとペチコートの違いを教えてもらいました。 And I was taught the difference between a pannier and a petticoat. ふくるますのがパニエで、下から見えるふりふりはペチコートらしい。 (I'm really unsure about this sentence. I'd ask my friend, but I think she's either doing homework or sleeping.) [The first part is probably just him saying which is a pannier], it seems that the one that you can see is ruffly from underneath is a petticoat. Or something like that. /o\

ドイツはいじりがいがあるキャラだ。 (I'm not entirely certain but I think he's kind of saying "I'm tinkering with Germany's character" here?? Something like that. /o\) Tarafishes 14:51, 13 September 2012 (EST)

Aww I kind of had a feeling the stuff I found wasn't all that important. ;; Thanks for helping with the translation!

I managed to find a copy of 1gatu.htm through Megalodon and it's the only of the gatu pages they have left ( I haven't had a chance to go through it so I don't know if there's anything we can use but feel free to go through it if you like! It's quite lengthy though.

The Japanese Wikipedia is a little bit of a goldmine but the only problem is that there's no sources. Regardless, I've also been doing some digging and (most of) the human names and ages start showing up there around June 29 and June 30, 2007 (Canada's, Sealand's and Belarus' names were posted April 29, 2008). The bit on Sweden's sexuality showed up on June 13, 2007 where the word "homo" shows up in brackets near the bottom but it's later removed on July 23 (though the sentence itself still remains the same with minor changes throughout the year; I lose track of the edits around here). The human names and ages got their own section on August 7, 2007 before finally being removed on December 14, 2008 (though to be honest, the names and ages were probably LONG gone from Himaruya's blog/site by that time). I don't think it's anything we can use but it sort of gives a rough perspective of when some of these things were posted. I really wish we could find the original posts from Himaruya's website but the chances of that happening are slim to none. D: (I'm sorry I'm probably boring you to death OTL) Icelilly 12:24, 15 September 2012 (EST)

EDIT: Oh! I forgot to ask! Do you know if the old '07 profiles (like this one) are still up somewhere on the main site? I'm just curious because of sourcing reasons. Icelilly 12:29, 15 September 2012 (EST)

Well, at least there's one. I searched リヒ and I didn't find the bit about her and Czechia(or anything at all for her) and Sweden's sexuality bit isn't there, either. Is there anything else you want me to look for? And it isn't boring! /o/ But, yeah, I'm not sure how we'd use it, either.  ;; Unless something useful surfaces.

They're the same as the ones in Volume 1, I think. I was sourcing them to there, at least.(they just don't have the flags, and aren't in color.) But, yeah, I was just looking that up earlier today! If you go to the Hetaria page from the site, and then go to story, "characters" is still a button on that page. Click it and you'll still have access to a few, but Finland, China, Korea, and America were removed(and a few others, too, I think.) Tarafishes 12:53, 15 September 2012 (EST)

STOP THE PRESSES THIS HAS THE BIT ABOUT IRELAND'S POSSIBLE PERSONALITY IN IT. #okayitsnotthatimportant How do we source this!? I kind of remember linking to things that were taken down before, so would it be okay to link to the broken page. . . ? Also, the page I edited was right the first time, he really said "crybaby" or "blubberer". . . . Tarafishes 13:52, 15 September 2012 (EST)

Great finds! I used to be able to go through the Megalodon logs, but unfortunately, a bunch did get lost. I think some fans might've saved copypasta for the 2ch fan-run wikis for different characters, but it wouldn't help us for general things (like Himaruya's original Noto-sama plans, I think that log got wiped?). But yep, Himaruya did say something like "even a crybaby (or "blubbering") type girl could work!". Fandom just focuses on that for Ireland though, and ignores how he said they could either be a guy or girl. Plus, that's like a way old idea. He even thought Portugal could originally be a girl (in the November '06) log, but it looks more likely that they're a guy now. Or who knows, haha. Black-Noto 15:04, 15 September 2012 (EST)

I'm also not sure it'd help with sourcing. Unless they saved the sources, too? In any case, I'm not sure how much it'd help, either, and we'd have to find out who saved what. . . . I knew he said it, but someone else translated it as "emotional" and, since I didn't have the original text, I wasn't sure which was right and just changed it. . . . Well, he did say they could be a crybaby girl so I guess people were mostly just complaining about that. . .and he also said more recently that he didn't know what to do about Ireland because of the many images it has and he didn't even mention the crybaby girl bit. . .though, just because it's old and he didn't say anything about it doesn't mean it's retconned, I guess. And for Portugal, we have no idea lol.

I'm almost at the end of the page! I should probably do this with all of them instead of just ctrl+f-ing a few names. But not tonight. Definitely not tonight. Tarafishes 15:18, 15 September 2012 (EST)

Ah this is exciting! I'm happy to hear that!! We can source dead links but we would need an extra template. I can ask FH14 tomorrow if he could try to code it but that's only if he has time for it.

I think at this point we've gone through everything we possibly can right now. There is still the Japanese fan wikis like you guys said it could be difficult to source (if there are even sources to begin with!). There are the forums too but we have to respect the "look but don't touch" policy so that's completely out of the question.

Oh! And I tried doing what you said but the links are dead so that means LJ is the only place that has the old '07 profiles. Himaruya's site has the '08 profiles somewhere but they are virtually the same as the volume 2 profiles so I don't need those. I guess I'll have to use the LJ links as archive links instead.

Get some rest Tara! You worked hard tonight! Icelilly 16:11, 15 September 2012 (EST)

That's. . .odd? I got to them jutst fine! Or maybe I got to them through the wayback archive and I just hung out in the profiles and went through them that way. . .because this page still works, see? I must;ve gone through a working country page, instead. But, like I said, some country links are dead, but others are still up.

And I'm all through the page! \o/ Anything I found there I "sourced"(though, I hid them since I wasn't sure what to do with them) unless I left some things out.

And it's only 2:30! I still have about 30 minutes before I'll try and got o bed and, if the way I've been going holds true, I'll just lie there for about two or three hours before falling sleep anyway. /o\ I can't fix my sleep schedule for the life of me. But, thank you! I'll try! o/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarafishes (talkcontribs) 06:22, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

(Late reply is late orz)

Thank you so much! That link isn't up on the site anymore so that's probably why I couldn't find it. I never realized how many of the links were dead so it looks I'll have to use most of the old LJ posts as sources. At least they'll be easy to track down! \o/

There was a Hetalia trivia post that showed up on my dash last night that featured some stuff we didn't have though no sources were provided. Would you know where the sources for France, Russia, Prussia and China are (OP:

I'm so sorry. I feel like I'm dumping all this work on you. OTL Icelilly 05:33, 17 September 2012 (EST)

Ha, someone showed that to me, too.

France: "The Ghost In America's House" strip or something along that name. Russia: I just posted and sourced that. It's from the Volume 2 profiles/the Simple Character Introductions. Prussia: Second most recent Christmas, if I recall. Someone said "go see Prussia" and Estonia advised Finland to be careful not to say any words with "mark" in them. He didn't say anything about why. Considering Estonia knows, I'd say it has something to do with Marx or the east German mark or something, too, but he never said. China: I can't remember this one. I think it's actually from Hetalia Fantasia and not a blog post?

In any case, don't feel like you're dumping work on me! I should be doing some work, myself, but I said "I don't really feel like it, maybe a nap will help?" and I took about three naps spanning 3-5 hours in total. Besides, this isn't work! I pretty much recited that off the top of my head. Which says a lot about my priorities, really. Don't be sorry, it's all good. Tarafishes 09:07, 17 September 2012 (EST)

Re: Email Notifications?

I'm actually not sure to be honest. I don't get e-mail notifications because I have them turned off so my e-mail wouldn't be swamped with edits. I don't think you get e-mails for stuff like that because I don't see any options to do that sort of thing in the preferences section but I could be incorrect. I only see options for when the talk page has been changed or for minor edits.

BTW, I saw your message on Russia's talk page. I'll get to that in a bit! Sorry I'm taking so long! I'm currently swamped right now and there's been a "Code Red" at our old Wikia location. Two people sent adoption requests to the staff and now I'm in damage control. D: Icelilly 15:46, 6 July 2012 (EST)

Huh. And haha that makes sense--I just like being informed of that sort of thing since I'm pretty flighty and I might not remember to check back here. . . . I guess I was mistaking the "E-mail me also for minor edits of pages" to mean that I'd get emails for edits in general, too. (Which is strange because I don't get one for a minor edit, either. Oh well.)

It's no problem! I'm sure you're busy and gah.  ;A; I hope everything works out! Don't worry about time, you have bigger troubles!

Thanks for the response! Tarafishes 15:53, 6 July 2012 (EST)

Citation Templates

Hi there! I hope this reaches you alright!

Basically, there's two different source templates that are in use. The first one is "Cite book".

<ref>{{cite book|last=Surname of the author|first=Given name of the author|year=The year the book was published|title=Title of book|trans_title=Translated book title|publisher=Name of publishing company|page=Page number (use numerals)|isbn=ISBN code (Luckily we have ISBN codes for all the books listed on the wiki so those pages for help!)}}</ref>

The second is "Cite web".

<ref>{{cite web|title=Title of blog post (I assume most links here will be from his blog)|url=URL address|last=Surname of the author|first=Given name of the author|date=Date the post was made (NOTE: if we're using a strip as a source, use an approx. date for publishing. If you can't, skip this)|accessdate=Today's date (for sources already on the wiki, I'd prefer if used the date it was placed on wiki. You'll have to dig through the history for this but it shouldn't be hard)|trans_title=Translated title (will be needed for the strips))}}</ref>

A word of caution, the cite web template has a spot for "language" but it's really glitchy at times so I don't recommend using it. I've got it to work once but never again.

If you plan on using the same source more than one, replace "<ref>" with "<ref name="NameHere">". For example, on the human names page we use the same source multiple times. For the source I called it <ref name="HN">. When it came time to use the same source again, I simply put <ref name="HN"/>. It's that easy!

I'll have to ask FH14 if there's one we could use for the drama CDs since we'll have to do some sourcing there. I hope this made some sense because it's pretty late right now! If you need help, you know where to find me! Icelilly 15:40, 6 September 2012 (EST)

Oh, cool! Okay, I'll try and use those next time I go on a spam-information-adding spree! o/ And maybe I'll add them next time I go through something. Let's hope I don't royally mess it up! /o\ Thank you very much! It made perfect sense! Tarafishes 15:45, 6 September 2012 (EST)

Which page is going to be your pet project after you eventually finish with the Prussia page? XD (Great job with it btw!) -FH14 08:07, 21 September 2012 (EST)

Bahaha, I don't know! I started on so many others, I was considering just going through as many strips as possible again and adding things as I go. . . . But that'd be even more messy than Prussia's page wound up(somehow it's 39KB or so. . .what have I done. . . .) I think I'm almost done with Belarus', so maybe I should finish her's once I'm done. I started on China and Russia's, too, I think? I'll have to see when i get there! orz (And thank you very much! I pay a bit too much attention to his canon--and canon overall, really--so I figured I might as well!) Tarafishes 08:10, 21 September 2012 (EST)

About the France part together with Korea. I know where it comes from; since I put it here. It's made by Himaruya Hidekaz of France and Korea, when Korea turned into Female, France teased him a lot. So don't delete this information or else a lot of information should be deleted too. ^^; — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sempiee (talkcontribs) 18:20, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

(Please remember to sign your comments in the future). Is there any way you could provide a source for this info? Because I don't recall Korea ever turning into a girl in the Hetalia canon, though the original design was a girl that appeared briefly in a sketch with France. -FH14 04:24, 30 September 2012 (EST)
I don't remember that at all. No one has been canonically turned female to my recollection--I recall older drawings when Korea was designed to be female, but as you can see, Korea's male, so I'm not sure how much that counts. If you know where it's from, please source it--you can find the source template beneath here. If it's been deleted, I'm not sure what should be done, but we'll need more proof than your word. . . .
. . .in any case, I have to go now, so that's where I am if you don't hear from me lol. Tarafishes 04:30, 30 September 2012 (EST)
Hmm, could Sempiee be referring to an old sketch where fem!Korea (before Himaruya redesigned her to be the current one) was arguing with France over tea? It's pretty old, dated about 2006. I wish I could remember the filename. Black-Noto 13:43, 5 October 2012 (EST)
I have the image(I think it's this one, anyway,) though I don't know what the original filename was(unless it's this random bunch of numbers and letters, which I doubt.) But, like I said, he was redesigned since then, so I'm not sure if it counts? Tarafishes 13:48, 5 October 2012 (EST)

Deleted Comic Diary 11 strip

I think I might of found the deleted strip ( but it appears to be deleted from his blog. I would ask JammerLea if she has a copy of it but she just left for a trip. I can ask Black-Noto if she might have it and maybe we can add it to their pages for reference. (Oh and I hope you didn't mind me fixing your citation tags! Himaruya was listed as his first name and Hidekaz under the surname so I went and fixed it for you!) Icelilly 03:14, 9 October 2012 (EST)

EDIT: Okay, for some reason the link I found through LJ was broken so I find a proper working link which I updated above. I can't recall if it was ever scanlated though. :C Icelilly 03:33, 9 October 2012 (EST)

I KNEW I'D SEEN IT BEFORE. I just couldn't find it. And for some reason I didn't--/tries to save it /it says it's already there Okay, I just didn't know the right filename, then. I think what happened was that he drew it and then redrew it without that part? Because I think that one is older. And then he deleted comic diary 11, too. Thank you for finding it! /o\ /should put it back /feels kind of stupid lol Also I swear I've seen it translated, too. . . . (I don't mind at all! Since fandom and everywhere else uses both the Japanese and English ordering, I never knew which one was right and I never got around to checking. /o\ Thank you!) Also, the image was working fine for me? 'o' Tarafishes 03:37, 9 October 2012 (EST)

I FOUND IT. Only took me like half an hour lol And I suppose they haven't been translated. I don't think that's them as kids, though. . . ? Just drawn super deformed. /will see if she can translate it Tarafishes 04:08, 9 October 2012 (EST) Also it was discarded, not deleted. just for future reference. Tarafishes 04:16, 9 October 2012 (EST) Scratch that, it does say she's been doing it since they were children. Okey, adding it back all sourced and everything, now! Tarafishes 04:23, 9 October 2012 (EST)

On this? -FH14 (talk) 16:15, 15 November 2012 (CST)

Also, if your still doing those character page revamps, I would recommend Hong Kong and Taiwan because they are outdated like whoa. -FH14 (talk) 16:37, 17 November 2012 (CST)
