Hetalia: Axis Powers (Axis Powers ヘタリア Akushisu Pawāzu Hetaria?) is the name for the video game adaptions of the webcomic and manga series of the same name by Hidekaz Himaruya. Between 2007 and 2010, three visual novels were developed by Himaruya using RPG Maker and released on Kitayume and Bamboo Thicket. All three are officially incomplete, and materials for undeveloped portions of the first two games exist in the form of a game script and concept art.

The first game, Gakuen Hetalia, has spawned two remakes for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS, which were released between 2011 and 2012. The original PC version also shares a universe with the Notosama series of games, which composites characters from Hetalia and other webmanga by Himaruya.

Though fan script translations of the PC games exist, none of the games have been licensed or localized outside of Japan.

Cast and characters

Main Article: List of Hetalia: Axis Powers characters

The series consists of an ensemble cast and a large supporting cast, the majority of which are characters representing nations or territories. In most promotional materials, merchandising, and in-series material, the main characters of the series consist of the Axis Powers (Italy, Germany, and Japan) and Allied Forces (America, England/UK, France, Russia, and China) of World War II.

All three versions of Gakuen Hetalia are fully or partially voiced, though Seychelles, the protagonist of all three games, is not. The original PC version uses actors from The Code For Flower Of Iris, who also provided the voice work in the drama CD Axis Powers Hetalia: The CD.
