I just wanted to say that Japan did not surrender Taiwan to China. It surrendered Taiwan without a recipient. According to the laws governing such things it would automatically go to the country that did the primary attacking, ie America. Anyways, I would recommend removing the "to China" part and just say it was when Japan surrendered Taiwan. -Carrie
