Between 2007 and 2008, Himaruya gave out human names to some of the characters and he received the name '''[[Human names#South Korea|Im Yong Soo]]''' (任勇洙, ''Imu Yon Su''; Korean: 임용수).<ref name="Name"/> He was originally slated to make an appearance in the anime, as evidenced by an early character design on the site (which was later removed), but was cut from the series, due to becoming controversial enough to warrant online protests, and for the series to be declared very offensive by the South Korean government for in their thoughts was his clothing was incorrect, his birthday was wrong, his behaviour was to be a pervert, not understandable, and his praise for Japan were the main reasons; as Hetalia is staged in WWII where Korea was forced to become [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_under_Japanese_rule part of the Japanese empire].

Korea has short, black-brown hair, with a flyaway curl on the right side of his head. The curl is often drawn with a face in the middle, to represent his "Korean spirit" though it appears that it was originally drawn as part of the yin yang symbol. He generally has on a high-spirited facial expression. He dresses in a white and navy blue hanbok with long, oversized sleeves, though it appears to be a mixture of the male and female styles of hanbok as well as hanbok from different eras of Korea, and his ''[[wikipedia:jeogori|jeogori]]'' seems to be in two pieces rather than one.

His actual height is not stated, but it is mentioned that he is significantly taller than both of his "brothers", and that he happens to be very muscular due to his experience in the military.

Korea is a free-spirited type, obsessed with video games, dramas, studying abroad, and the internet. He always claims credit for others' inventions, and feels that his older brothers should call him their older brother.

Though he is fundamentally serious and likes to put the family first, he can't keep his hands off his brothers. He often uses phrases like, "Da-ze!" or "Uri nara mansae!", which means roughly "Hooray for our land!". When speaking to elders, however, he adopts more formal and polite speech.

It is said that he loves kimchi so much that he took it up into outer space, causing [[France]] to become pissed off.

Korea has also been shown to be very good at drawing, as can be seen in a comic strip with [[China]] in which he tried to teach his older brother how to draw anime.

It is also shown that Korea is very bright seeing that he was able to create the Mind-Reading Binoculars perfectly when [[Japan]] failed to do so. But the same comic strip also reveals how clueless he is when he tries to use the binoculars to see what China was thinking of him, only devastated to see that China is glad that Korea took the stuffed animals because he didn't want them. Korea concluded that "Korea didn't make them" because he believed they didn't work.

He is obsessed with China and wants to be acknowledged by him, but his feelings are unrequited. When he "invented" a pair of mind-reading binoculars and saw that China despaired of his very presence, he believed that they were broken and as a result, he denied making them.

In another modern strip, he and China worked together in animation production.

Korea, after telling Japan and China that they should call him "big brother" and he should be the boss of them, was turned into a child by England in order to "help" Japan and China. He said that, because he was so cute that even if he was loud they would forgive him. China and Japan admitted he was cute and that it could work out as England had intended, however they left him with England after finding that he still had a strong interest in their chests(young Korea was seen with a bump on his head, as well.)

Their relationship has been shown during the ''2011 Halloween event.'' when Hong Kong told to Korea that ''you really like teacher. don't you?'' while Korea said that he didn't like him but that ''China'' likes him, instead. After all, the two of them are pretty close since they're real good friends, like real brothers are suppose to be. While they tease China when they made a kind of bet together.

Korea claims to hate him, but is constantly copying his style and creations, and believes that he has ownership over his breasts. At one point, he wanted to dig a tunnel to connect both their countries. He tried to justify his complicated relationship with the claim that ''tsundere'' originated from him.

In the original ''World Conference'' strip, it is shown that he will go out of his way to disagree with any of Japan's opinions, preferring to side with [[America]] instead - even when Japan and America have already agreed.

Korea was originally part of the cast for season 1, and was shown in various promotional images for the series, as well as appearing in the official site's lineup of characters.

However, several South Korean citizens, after learning of the existence of the series, found the character to be mocking and in poor taste. Reasons for the controversy ranged from the character's bluffing and perversion (which was taken as a slight against Korea for its claims about ownership of the [[wikipedia:Liancourt Rocks|Liancourt Rocks]], which Japan also claims ownership of), to his hanbok being drawn incorrectly.

An online petition was launched to get the series banned, and over 16,000 signatures were collected. The case gained enough media attention to be brought before the government of South Korea, and the series was deemed to be a "national crime".

Kids Station, the TV network that was to air the ''Hetalia'' anime, responded that there were never any plans to include a Korea character in the series. Despite the claim, the protests continued and the anime adaptation wound up pulled from Kids Station's lineup due to "various circumstances". It is believed that reported death threats (and a bomb threat) from the protesters may have played a part in those circumstances, though it is unknown exactly how many of the reports were of serious threats and how many were just netizens trolling their "intentions" on sites.

Though he appears briefly in the ending theme, Korea is noticeably absent from the actual anime. A brief animation error in [[Episode 14]], depicting him as part of the supermarket line from behind, shows evidence that he was originally animated into the series, but that [[Studio DEEN]] had to remove any references to him, presumably due to the protests. The part he played in the rest of the episode was completely removed, as was a brief cameo he would have had in [[Episode 01]].

The ''Cast Commentary'' track on the third drama CD, [[Hetalia Drama CD: Prologue 2|Prologue 2]], contains an appearance by the seiyū '''Kaoru Mizuhara''', in the roundtable discussion of recording for the characters in both the drama CDs and anime. Mizuhara's section was thought to suggest that she was to voice Korea in the upcoming anime version, though a translation revealed that it was only a "what if" type of idea if she was cast in the anime, with a "[[Monaco]]" character being suggested first.

In his unused anime design, Korea's dark hair was changed to a chestnut brown shade, and the "Korean spirit" in his haircurl was removed. The navy blue part of his hanbok was also changed to violet.

In the early design, the female South Korea is depicted wearing a hanbok with long, flowing oversized sleeves. Her hair appears to be tied back into braids. Further liner notes in the special edition of ''Hetalia: Axis Powers volume 2'' suggest that the female Korea was to be an aspiring idol who decided to travel to the United States. Also in her appearance in the Sealand and Latvia desktop buddies it's revealed that she can see ghosts. She expressed confusion at ghosts that are only their head or hand, and said that they must not be confident enough to only exist as their balls. It's possible she spaces out a lot, as she's spent so much time staring at objects(namely her ribbon, "France's thing," "a cat's thing," cardboard, flea remover, or a herring's eyes) that the sun went down or it became night as she did so, or spending three hours staring at the white noise on a TV. She said that Louis Gruenberg should be kinder to her, and that she should have done better back in the Soviet Union. Her outlook on life, or at least, human life, is rather negative as she finds that "humans are a series of misfortunes and hardships" and they're constantly filled with misfortune and make others suffer without realizing it by constantly striving for eternal happiness. She seems to value Lukashenko (her boss) because she knows she will eventually die, so she must value the things she has now before death takes them from her. Somewhat related, she's questioned how much longer she will live, and her reason for existence, saying she only thought such things because she's lonely. According to her diary, she's fantasized about Dmitri Smirnov, made a fansite for both her brother and her boss, occasionally enjoys prank calling Lithuania and "silent calling"(calling, but then not speaking once the phone's been picked up) Poland, stacking blocks into rows of threes and knocking them down repeatedly, and doing other activities.
According to her, she's skilled in cooking potatoes and she always eats them due to inflation. She thinks that "as long as we have something to eat, it's fine" and works hard on her agriculture due to her bad economy.<ref name="Russisters"/> She said that Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled her as unsafe and she has travel warnings against her.

Upon being asked by Latvia, she said that the higher ups in Belarus used to speak Polish, somewhat implying that she can, as well.

At five in the morning, she said she would go watch the sun rise. She calls eight AM "torture" and four PM "the devil." At nine, she decided to "watch some state-run TV to be poisoned by propaganda." According to her, ten in the morning is the most dangerous time in Belarus. She seems to get nervous around 11 and 12 for some reason, and calms down(saying "you've forgotten") at one and that "it's alright" and "you have to start moving on" at two.

She said that the shadow on the moon was, according to Netherlands or Denmark(she couldn't recall which,) someone who had been imprisoned there for some crime. She wondered how long he had to stare at the earth powerlessly until he was forgiven and that she wasn't much better off than him.

Though Lithuania has a crush on her, Belarus despises him and treats him harshly. When they were children, she broke his leg and strangled him. When Lithuania finally managed to arrange a date between the two, Belarus broke all of his fingers. It is implied that Belarus' hatred for him comes from the Lithuanian annexation of Belarus during the Grand Duchy of Lithuania era. Due to the annexation, Belarus was separated from Russia for a long time period. In the ''Halloween 2011'' event, Belarus does not treat him with her usual cruelty.

Russia is Belarus' older brother. While Belarus loves her brother to the point of obsession and wishes to marry him, he sees her only as a younger sibling and is frightened by her behavior. According to her appearance in the Sealand and Latvia mascots, she'll only tell her hobbies to her brother. Despite her creepy love for him, many of the things she imagines herself doing with him are fairly normal, such as walking through the woods, singing, "moving along smoothly," proudly smiling at each other, being in awe of nature's splendor, and "having a talk about the greatness of love." However her diary entries occasionally involve her doing things such as going through his garbage, stealing all his underwear, smelling and wearing his underwear as a nightcap, looking through pornographic pictures of him, and making a fansite for him as well. She's also expressed the desire to '''be''' his underwear, as well as his toothbrush and fantasized about having sex with him.

Ukraine is Belarus' older sister. It has been shown that Belarus seems to scare Ukraine sometimes and their actions character song implies that they have a rivalry over obtaining Russia's affections. However, Ukraine apologizes for being a "bewitching older sister", implying she would like Belarus to be happy. Belarus says that she should burn in an oven for standing between her and Russia, while Ukraine replies that they should, instead, bake bread in the oven and be together.

In her appearance in the Sealand and Latvia desktop mascots, a possible entry of Belarus' diary she'll read for you involves her spending three hours massaging Ukraine's breasts.

Belarus debuted in the ''Fly, Mr. Canada, Fly'' strip series that focused on Canada and his diplomatic relations. The strip was later included in [[volume 1]] of the published manga. Also included was the ''Meeting of the World'' strip, in which Belarus had a cameo intimidating Latvia. Belarus was featured heavily in a series of strips focusing on Russia and his sisters. Belarus was revealed to have known Russia and Belarus since they were young; even at a young age, Belarus displayed an attachment to her brother. In strips focused on her current status, she is shown to be mentally unstable and focused on marrying Russia, despite his disapproval. Belarus has also appeared in several holiday events. In the ''Christmas 2010'' event, Belarus agrees to have Finland take a picture of her smiling if he sends it to Russia. She dresses in an ''Alice in Wonderland''-themed costume for America's costume party during the ''Halloween 2011'' event, and accompanies Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltics.

===Drama CDs===
To date, Belarus has been featured in two dramas. One was included in the Russia-centric CD ''[[Hetalia: Axis Powers Character CD Vol. 7- Russia]]''. The other is part of the ''Goodnight with Sheep'' drama CD collection, which focuses on various nations' attempts to fall asleep. Belarus appears with Russia and Ukraine in the CD ''[[Hetalia x Goodnight with Sheep Vol. 5- Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus]]''.

Belarus first appeared in a cameo in [[Episode 01]] at the "Meeting Of The World", where she was seen holding the knife to a crying Latvia's back (as in the manga). She makes another brief cameo in a thought bubble in [[Episode 37]], as Lithuania mentions that he planned to go out on a date with her. She finally makes her speaking debut in [[Episode 42]], where she attempts and succeeds in breaking down her brother's door, in an attempt to get him to agree to marry her.

Also in her appearance in the Sealand and Latvia desktop buddies it's revealed that she can see ghosts. She expressed confusion at ghosts that are only their head or hand, and said that they must not be confident enough to only exist as their balls. It's possible she spaces out a lot, as she's spent so much time staring at objects(namely her ribbon, "France's thing," "a cat's thing," cardboard, flea remover, or a herring's eyes) that the sun went down or it became night as she did so, or spending three hours staring at the white noise on a TV. She said that Louis Gruenberg should be kinder to her, and that she should have done better back in the Soviet Union. Her outlook on life, or at least, human life, is rather negative as she finds that "humans are a series of misfortunes and hardships" and they're constantly filled with misfortune and make others suffer without realizing it by constantly striving for eternal happiness. She seems to value Lukashenko (her boss) because she knows she will eventually die, so she must value the things she has now before death takes them from her. Somewhat related, she's questioned how much longer she will live, and her reason for existence, saying she only thought such things because she's lonely. According to her diary, she's fantasized about Dmitri Smirnov, made a fansite for both her brother and her boss, occasionally enjoys prank calling Lithuania and "silent calling"(calling, but then not speaking once the phone's been picked up) Poland, stacking blocks into rows of threes and knocking them down repeatedly, and doing other activities. She also took haunted photos as a hobby, however when she did so in America, she was bothered by how conspicuous the American ghosts were. She also seems to have an odd fondness for cardboard and cardboard boxes. According to her, she's packing for something. She knows a lot of "useless trivia" such as the name of Paris Hilton's dog and that rodents can be taught to use tools, however she says not to use that knowledge for crime, before mentioning that "the degu rodent is kind of cute..."

According to her, she's skilled in cooking potatoes and she always eats them due to inflation. She thinks that "as long as we have something to eat, it's fine" and works hard on her agriculture due to her bad economy.<ref name="Russisters"/> She said that Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled her as unsafe and she has travel warnings against her.

Upon being asked by Latvia, she said that the higher ups in Belarus used to speak Polish, somewhat implying that she can, as well.

At five in the morning, she said she would go watch the sun rise. She calls eight AM "torture" and four PM "the devil." At nine, she decided to "watch some state-run TV to be poisoned by propaganda." According to her, ten in the morning is the most dangerous time in Belarus. She seems to get nervous around 11 and 12 for some reason, and calms down(saying "you've forgotten") at one and that "it's alright" and "you have to start moving on" at two.

She said that the shadow on the moon was, according to Netherlands or Denmark(she couldn't recall which,) someone who had been imprisoned there for some crime. She wondered how long he had to stare at the earth powerlessly until he was forgiven and that she wasn't much better off than him.

Due to the annexation, Belarus was separated from Russia for a long time period. In the ''Halloween 2011'' event, Belarus does not treat him with her usual cruelty.

Belarus says that she should burn in an oven for standing between her and Russia, while Ukraine replies that they should, instead, bake bread in the oven and be together.

In her appearance in the Sealand and Latvia desktop mascots, a possible entry of Belarus' diary she'll read for you involves her spending three hours massaging Ukraine's breasts.

Belarus debuted in the ''Fly, Mr. Canada, Fly'' strip series that focused on Canada and his diplomatic relations. The strip was later included in [[volume 1]] of the published manga. Also included was the ''Meeting of the World'' strip, in which Belarus had a cameo intimidating Latvia. Belarus was featured heavily in a series of strips focusing on Russia and his sisters. Belarus was revealed to have known Russia and Belarus since they were young; even at a young age, Belarus displayed an attachment to her brother. In strips focused on her current status, she is shown to be mentally unstable and focused on marrying Russia, despite his disapproval. Belarus has also appeared in several holiday events. In the ''Christmas 2010'' event, Belarus agrees to have Finland take a picture of her smiling if he sends it to Russia. She dresses in an ''Alice in Wonderland''-themed costume for America's costume party during the ''Halloween 2011'' event, and accompanies Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltics.

Belarus first appeared in a cameo in [[Episode 01]] at the "Meeting Of The World", where she was seen holding the knife to a crying Latvia's back (as in the manga). She makes another brief cameo in a thought bubble in [[Episode 37]], as Lithuania mentions that he planned to go out on a date with her. She finally makes her speaking debut in [[Episode 42]], where she attempts and succeeds in breaking down her brother's door, in an attempt to get him to agree to marry her.

Her anime design originally had a color scheme similar to the one that she had in the manga version of the ''Meeting of the World'' strip, with her hair being darker and her dress colored black, rather than her hair being light blonde and her dress being navy. The only difference between the designs is that an apron was added and her hair was lengthened to match her later manga design. However, when she reappeared in [[Episode 42]], the colors of her dress and bow were corrected, though her hair still remained dark blonde.

Prussia has light-colored hair and red eyes, though he first appeared in color images (circa 2007) with dark blond hair. His hair varies between platinum blond, white, or silver, while his eyes have also been depicted as pink or a dark red hue. He is seen in many images with a [[Creatures of Hetalia#Prussia|little yellow chick]] upon his head which he appears never to notice. He seems to be easy to find, as he's distinguished by his constant laughter and the bird nearby him all of the time.

He wears a deep blue (''Prussian blue'') military uniform, akin to a Luftwaffen Fliegerbluse with an [[wikipedia:Iron Cross|Iron Cross]] on his tie. In the WWII-set '''Buon San Valentino''', he is shown to wear a ''Waffen SS'' uniform like his brother.

In a requested comic showing Prussia and Germany's infiltration of the American camp during WWII, Prussia was required to wear a helmet in order to hide his hair and eyes from view, hinting he's rather unique. According to Germany, even wearing it, he looked very suspicious.

===Personality and Interests===
Prussia was born to fight the same type of battles as [[Austria]], but was a hooligan who did nothing but fight and avoided any marriage. He will do anything to become strong, and has an arrogant attitude, believing that he is the best and still more "awesome" than others, although he hasn't really succeeded at his goal. Although he proclaims to like being alone, he is seen crying when he sees Hungary and Austria together in the '''Christmas Rampage 2007 '''strips. It was stated that this loneliness stemmed from that he felt like an enclave rather than an actual nation. Despite this he still seems to have retained some of his strength, shoving one of the Parallel Frances off of him and out of the house with a single shove, after being attacked. In addition, despite feeling alone, he seems to have many friends, though when informed of this he gets rather quiet. Germany once said that Prussia "knows little about common sense." Deep down, it is said that his true nature is that of a punctual and diligent soldier, though his bad manners (especially during his "transition period") mask it. In addition, in Noto-sama 5, it was said that he's much stronger than he looks, somewhat supported by a poster of him holding Germany in a headlock, likely having overpowered him. Furthermore, in the Sealand and Latvia mascots, Latvia said that Prussia was a very punctual person and was never late for anything and is persistent in his journal writings, never missing a day. He also added that Prussia "loots everything and opens all the drawers and...he's really methodical."

He is very loyal to his leaders, and had a special attachment to [[wikipedia:Frederich II of Prussia|Frederich II]], known to him as "Old Fritz." He continues to hope that Old Fritz will watch over him and that he'll be proud. It is said though, that he tends to become rather depressed if Fritz is brought up due to this attachment.

Prussia often refers to his younger brother [[Germany]] as "West," and hates [[Russia]] almost to the point of coughing up blood should he touch him (and losing four eyelashes otherwise.) He doesn't get along well with Austria, and also seems to very much enjoy the company of [[North Italy]] and [[South Italy]]. Despite his hatred of Russia, because Germany is so strong, he's not freaked out by Russia very much anymore. He seems to be very proud of Germany for this.

He is said to to get upset at any words that sound like "mark", especially "maruku" (Japanese for "roundness"), "marukyu" (a Japanese grocery store chain), and the name "Mark". The reason for this has yet to be given. It may be since they sound similar to "Marx", referencing a communist Russia or the East German Mark or Ostmark, the currency first in the Soviet zone of occupation and later in the German Democratic Republic.

It is revealed that he had kept diaries since he was formed, which led to him having an entire library of journals. Almost all of them start with passages that read "I'm so cool/I was so cool today." He also seems to be fond of cute things, and buys things such as stuffed pandas, as seen on his April Fools Blog. In addition, on his blog, he says he's fond of sleeping, fighting, Old Fritz, and eating, his fondness for eating being displayed in his going to England to eat lunch, him "only accepting" France's ability to cook well, and his desire to get food from Italy and Austria with his brother in their Counting Sheep CD.

He seems to have a tendency to sneeze and find himself bored with or distracted from tasks, especially reading, although he claimed to be "a wiz at cleaning" and also seemed to be good at gardening, so it's possible his skills show when he is less distracted. In his and Germany's Counting Sheep CD, after sneezing and growing bored of counting, Germany insists he continue to count, causing him to continue, also raising the possibility that he can continue to do things despite his own odds (boredom) if encouraged. During Halloween 2011, he claimed he had a natural talent in everything he did, proving it by learning one of India's dances(and performing with him) in a month's time. According to him he'd practiced the whole month. Italy then said that he was a very hard worker, to which Germany agreed.

Apparently, he was very religious as a child (most likely due to him having been raised by the order of Teutonic Knights, a highly religious war group). This is exampled when he accidentally gropes Hungary when they were children (not having known that she was a girl during that particular point in time). However, once he discovered that he had grabbed her breasts, after Hungary had left to go fight, he is seen kneeling before an altar, begging God for forgiveness (as he believes that he has committed a sin).

Prussia takes pleasure in annoying and humiliating Austria in whatever way he can, and fought against him in wars in the past, seizing [[wikipedia:Silesia|Silesia]] for himself in the ''War Of Austrian Succession'' (the strip of which contained Austria saying the infamous "vital regions" line).

On numerous occasions, he finds himself alone and crying. Prussia will mention that he is happy alone unlike a certain "stupid aristocrat". In the Christmas Strips, Prussia has to tell himself that he would rather be alone than with others ''"because clustering is for the weak. Yeah, like that stupid aristocr--"''. Prussia often speaks negatively of Austria.

In the present day while living with his brother, Prussia freeloads off of Austria and has a habit of stalking him. Also, in Prussia's blog, it is implied that either Prussia and Austria are both living together in Germany's house, and that Austria hangs around the brothers very often to sort out their messes and spends a large fraction of his time with them. In the Maria Theresa arc of the anime, Prussia often attempted to make Austria beg for mercy during the battle. He also mentioned wanting a painter to come and paint Austria's face after he had lost the first battle, so that his failure could be etched into history.

Their relationship has only been shown in Prussia's blog as of yet. The two are possibly close, as Cuba calls him "big brother" and Prussia says that he'll look at his blog later once he noticed he had one. Why Cuba refers to him this way has yet to be stated. Cuba praised the maple syrup Prussia had been given by [[Canada]], telling him that if he thought it was simply another April Fool's joke that he should keep thinking that, but eat it anyway. He was also pleased when Prussia was happy after eating pancakes with the syrup.

On Prussia's blog, he was requested to try some of England's cooking, but could not stomach it and passed out, making all the other nations believe he was dead. And during the Seven Years' War England sent Prussia a letter declaring him his ally, though England left the war as soon as France did, as he was only there to oppose him.

Prussia is often depicted as having a close friendship with France and Spain, stemming from their alliance during the War of Austrian Succession. At the end of his cleaning game, he was shown to be spending time with them, telling them about his adventure cleaning the house of the chosen country. In Prussia's blog, upon his "revival" from eating England's food, France became afraid that Prussia was some sort of monster, though it was likely a joke as he'd invited him over to eat afterwards. Prussia says he doesn't acknowledge anything about France but his skill at cooking, so it seems they have a somewhat negative relationship, despite their closeness. During the 2007 April Fools event, "Prussia" demanded to have Alsace-Lorraine given to him, causing France to claim he hates Germans. In the 2007 Christmas strips, however, France claims to know a lot about Prussia, though when asked if he was a virgin like his brother or not he was unsure.

Though the two are brothers, they do not appear together in most of the strips (as Prussia's earlier appearances were before the foundation of the German Empire). Germany is shown to be annoyed by his brother's wild attitude and his tendency to buy strange things, as seen in the April Fools' blog event and drama CD. In the Halloween event of 2011, Prussia says that Germany often performs suplexes on him when he's aggravated with things he's done, and that it's so regular it's nothing to worry about, opening speculation that they fight physically regularly. Prussia refers to their familial tie as "unsavory". It's revealed, in his and Germany's Counting Sheep CD, that he does find himself wanting to do "big brother" things for him, sometimes, and further revealed during 2011's Halloween, Germany intended to bring his brother to the party with him, but Prussia stayed home on his own accord. Germany then instructed him not to stay in bed all day, likely wanting him to come to the party and enjoy himself(however, to annoy him, Prussia decided to do just that until India came along.)

He seems proud of his strength and growth thus far, although he resents his stubbornness. His strength apparently makes him feel safe, as he is less afraid of Russia because of it.

The two have had a rivalry since childhood, when Hungary believed herself to be a boy (as did Prussia). It is said that she loathes Prussia due to him making fun of her hardships since that time. She is also known to hit him with her frying pan when she catches him bothering Austria, and had appeared at his bedside fully armed with a spear to threaten him to give back Silesia after he had seized it.

Prussia had also noticeably groped Hungary when they were children, though he was unaware of her true gender at the time and simply thought he'd grab a weak spot. After realizing the truth, he became disgusted and upset that he might have committed a sin, and was utterly horrified by his actions. His realization led him to confessing his "sin" in a chapel and begging God for forgiveness.

Prussia is shown to like Italy very much and often refers to him as "Ita". In the original Japanese text, Prussia often uses the "-chan" suffix when he refers to Italy. Prussia often considers him 'cute' apparently because of his topography and climate and even goes as far as to ask him on a date in the drama adaptation of his blog event, only for Italy to be oblivious to his question, being fixated on Prussia's bird. In the same CD, Germany says that Prussia is very good with Italy. In [[Osōji Prussia]] (''Cleaning Prussia''), if he chooses to go to Italy's house to clean, he states that he has clear ulterior motives to be praised by Italy. Upon arrival Prussia finds Italy asleep in his bed, and begins to stroke Italy's head. As he strokes Italy, he is reminded of the [[wikipedia:Risorgimento|Risorgimento]] as he did so, and happily daydreams about him and Italy on a gondola in [[wikipedia:Venezia|Venice]].

While their only canonical meeting was in Prussia's Cleaning game, in which he helps him clean after Japan misinterpreted his demands as enthusiasm, Himaruya has stated that their relationship is near inseparable, and that it was something he wanted to show in Prussia's April Fools blog, but didn't get to. It's also notable, that Japan calls him "''Prussia-kun''", emphasizing this. Prussia possibly goes to Japan's house very often, as he said that he "usually" has tea and manjuu when he goes. When they finished cleaning, to show his gratitude, Japan gave him the cakes he had previously been asking for, however the work exhausted Prussia, so he could "only" eat 34.

Also stated in the game, was Prussia's enjoyment of reading manga(he had attempted to learn to make his own, but he sneezed and abandoned the project), something he possibly got from befriending Japan.

===Korea===

The two of them didn't have appeard in the many strips together, but it's said that they're being called the ''forever alone duo'' since both of them are never getting the real love they deserve especially when both of their brothers Germany, Japan & China are totally ignoring them. They always are going to find things that are cool enough for both of them and probably fooling around together. For their religions they would never do something bads if it's against their religions. It's also said that they will not stop before they finally got their own victory.

Though the two have not appeared in many strips together, it is said that their relations are rather rocky due to Prussia having invaded and gone on a rampage. A glimpse of their past is shown in the '''Polish-Swedish Wars''' strips, when [[Finland]] mentions the [[wikipedia:Battle of Grunwald|Battle of Grunwald]]. Prussia was shown to have nearly defeated Poland (and been prepared to kill him) until [[Lithuania]] intervened and defeated the Teutonic Knights (after having pretended to flee).

Despite their lack of appearances in strips together, Prussia has been stated to hate Russia to the point of "losing four eyelashes" and being close to puking blood should he make physical contact, though this is likely an exaggeration. Despite this, he might be less afraid of Russia than others, as he explained that Germany's become so strong he's not freaked out by Russia as much anymore. Russia's feelings toward him are unknown thus far, however he was somewhat friendly towards him during his April Fools blog, especially when he mentioned that he napped at Greece's house where it was warm, and when he went to bed, asking him if it was warm when he did so. Prussia is also implied to occasionally get Ostalgic and, when he does so, Russia will appear to "impose himself" on him, presumably to attempt to befriend him.

In the strips depicting the Battle of Lake Peipus, young Russia is shown to be very angry at the Teutonic Knights' carelessness in regards to their movement to attack on the lake, despite that it was covered in thin ice and that Russia had warned him not to, going as far as strangling him while he attempted scolding him. However, Russia hoped that the next time they met they would be friends, instead of enemies. Prior to that, young Prussia was one of the countries who would constantly bully Russia. However, when Russia summoned general Winter to fight him and the others who were chasing him, it was revealed that there was no effect as they'd all been raised from birth in cold places(though this seems to contradict that Prussia was born as The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem.)

===South Italy===

Though they've yet to make an actual appearance together, Himaruya stated in answer to a fan's question that Prussia holds similar feelings for Romano that he does for his Veneziano, and he loves their climate and topography. In contrast, Romano disliked him as a child and wanted to fight him, but he was too scared of him to do so and merely cursed him out from afar. His present day feelings aren't given, though they likely haven't changed or are similar to his feelings towards Germany.

His hair varies between platinum blond, white, or silver, while his eyes have also been depicted as pink or a dark red hue. He is seen in many images with a [[Creatures of Hetalia#Prussia|little yellow chick]] upon his head which he appears never to notice. He seems to be easy to find, as he's distinguished by his constant laughter and the bird nearby him all of the time.

Prussia was born to fight the same type of battles as [[Austria]], but was a hooligan who did nothing but fight and avoided any marriage. He will do anything to become strong, and has an arrogant attitude, believing that he is the best and still more "awesome" than others, although he hasn't really succeeded at his goal. Although he proclaims to like being alone, he is seen crying when he sees Hungary and Austria together in the '''Christmas Rampage 2007 '''strips. It was stated that this loneliness stemmed from that he felt like an enclave rather than an actual nation. Despite this he still seems to have retained some of his strength, shoving one of the Parallel Frances off of him and out of the house with a single shove, after being attacked. In addition, despite feeling alone, he seems to have many friends, though when informed of this he gets rather quiet. Germany once said that Prussia "knows little about common sense." Deep down, it is said that his true nature is that of a punctual and diligent soldier, though his bad manners (especially during his "transition period") mask it. In addition, in Noto-sama 5, it was said that he's much stronger than he looks, somewhat supported by a poster of him holding Germany in a headlock, likely having overpowered him. Furthermore, in the Sealand and Latvia mascots, Latvia said that Prussia was a very punctual person and was never late for anything and is persistent in his journal writings, never missing a day. He also added that Prussia "loots everything and opens all the drawers and...he's really methodical."

He is very loyal to his leaders, and had a special attachment to [[wikipedia:Frederich II of Prussia|Frederich II]], known to him as "Old Fritz." He continues to hope that Old Fritz will watch over him and that he'll be proud. It is said though, that he tends to become rather depressed if Fritz is brought up due to this attachment.

Prussia often refers to his younger brother [[Germany]] as "West," and hates [[Russia]] almost to the point of coughing up blood should he touch him (and losing four eyelashes otherwise.) He doesn't get along well with Austria, and also seems to very much enjoy the company of [[North Italy]] and [[South Italy]]. Despite his hatred of Russia, because Germany is so strong, he's not freaked out by Russia very much anymore. He seems to be very proud of Germany for this.

He is said to to get upset at any words that sound like "mark", especially "maruku" (Japanese for "roundness"), "marukyu" (a Japanese grocery store chain), and the name "Mark". The reason for this has yet to be given. It may be since they sound similar to "Marx", referencing a communist Russia or the East German Mark or Ostmark, the currency first in the Soviet zone of occupation and later in the German Democratic Republic.

It is revealed that he had kept diaries since he was formed, which led to him having an entire library of journals. Almost all of them start with passages that read "I'm so cool/I was so cool today." He also seems to be fond of cute things, and buys things such as stuffed pandas, as seen on his April Fools Blog. In addition, on his blog, he says he's fond of sleeping, fighting, Old Fritz, and eating, his fondness for eating being displayed in his going to England to eat lunch, him "only accepting" France's ability to cook well, and his desire to get food from Italy and Austria with his brother in their Counting Sheep CD.

He seems to have a tendency to sneeze and find himself bored with or distracted from tasks, especially reading, although he claimed to be "a wiz at cleaning" and also seemed to be good at gardening, so it's possible his skills show when he is less distracted. In his and Germany's Counting Sheep CD, after sneezing and growing bored of counting, Germany insists he continue to count, causing him to continue, also raising the possibility that he can continue to do things despite his own odds (boredom) if encouraged. During Halloween 2011, he claimed he had a natural talent in everything he did, proving it by learning one of India's dances(and performing with him) in a month's time. According to him he'd practiced the whole month. Italy then said that he was a very hard worker, to which Germany agreed.

Apparently, he was very religious as a child (most likely due to him having been raised by the order of Teutonic Knights, a highly religious war group). This is exampled when he accidentally gropes Hungary when they were children (not having known that she was a girl during that particular point in time). However, once he discovered that he had grabbed her breasts, after Hungary had left to go fight, he is seen kneeling before an altar, begging God for forgiveness (as he believes that he has committed a sin).

On numerous occasions, he finds himself alone and crying. Prussia will mention that he is happy alone unlike a certain "stupid aristocrat". Prussia often speaks negatively of Austria.

In the present day while living with his brother, Prussia freeloads off of Austria and has a habit of stalking him. Also, in Prussia's blog, it is implied that either Prussia and Austria are both living together in Germany's house, and that Austria hangs around the brothers very often to sort out their messes and spends a large fraction of his time with them. In the Maria Theresa arc of the anime, Prussia often attempted to make Austria beg for mercy during the battle. He also mentioned wanting a painter to come and paint Austria's face after he had lost the first battle, so that his failure could be etched into history.

Prussia had also noticeably groped Hungary when they were children, though he was unaware of her true gender at the time and simply thought he'd grab a weak spot. After realizing the truth, he became disgusted and upset that he might have committed a sin, and was utterly horrified by his actions. His realization led him to confessing his "sin" in a chapel and begging God for forgiveness.

Upon arrival Prussia finds Italy asleep in his bed, and begins to stroke Italy's head. As he strokes Italy, he is reminded of the [[wikipedia:Risorgimento|Risorgimento]] as he did so, and happily daydreams about him and Italy on a gondola in [[wikipedia:Venezia|Venice]].

He seems to be easy to find, as he's distinguished by his constant laughter and the bird nearby him all of the time.

He wears a deep blue (''Prussian blue'') military uniform, akin to a Luftwaffen Fliegerbluse with an [[wikipedia:Iron Cross|Iron Cross]] on his tie. In the WWII-set '''Buon San Valentino''', he is shown to wear a ''Waffen SS'' uniform like his brother.

In a requested comic showing Prussia and Germany's infiltration of the American camp during WWII, Prussia was required to wear a helmet in order to hide his hair and eyes from view, hinting he's rather unique. According to Germany, even wearing it, he looked very suspicious.

===Personality and Interests===
Prussia was born to fight the same type of battles as [[Austria]], but was a hooligan who did nothing but fight and avoided any marriage. He will do anything to become strong, and has an arrogant attitude, believing that he is the best and still more "awesome" than others, although he hasn't really succeeded at his goal. Although he proclaims to like being alone, he is seen crying when he sees Hungary and Austria together in the '''Christmas Rampage 2007 '''strips. It was stated that this loneliness stemmed from that he felt like an enclave rather than an actual nation. Despite this he still seems to have retained some of his strength, shoving one of the Parallel Frances off of him and out of the house with a single shove, after being attacked. In addition, despite feeling alone, he seems to have many friends, though when informed of this he gets rather quiet. Germany once said that Prussia "knows little about common sense." Deep down, it is said that his true nature is that of a punctual and diligent soldier, though his bad manners (especially during his "transition period") mask it. In addition, in Noto-sama 5, it was said that he's much stronger than he looks, somewhat supported by a poster of him holding Germany in a headlock, likely having overpowered him. Furthermore, in the Sealand and Latvia mascots, Latvia said that Prussia was a very punctual person and was never late for anything and is persistent in his journal writings, never missing a day. He also added that Prussia "loots everything and opens all the drawers and...he's really methodical."

He is very loyal to his leaders, and had a special attachment to [[wikipedia:Frederich II of Prussia|Frederich II]], known to him as "Old Fritz." He continues to hope that Old Fritz will watch over him and that he'll be proud. It is said though, that he tends to become rather depressed if Fritz is brought up due to this attachment.

Prussia often refers to his younger brother [[Germany]] as "West," and hates [[Russia]] almost to the point of coughing up blood should he touch him (and losing four eyelashes otherwise.) He doesn't get along well with Austria, and also seems to very much enjoy the company of [[North Italy]] and [[South Italy]]. Despite his hatred of Russia, because Germany is so strong, he's not freaked out by Russia very much anymore. He seems to be very proud of Germany for this.

He is said to to get upset at any words that sound like "mark", especially "maruku" (Japanese for "roundness"), "marukyu" (a Japanese grocery store chain), and the name "Mark". The reason for this has yet to be given. It may be since they sound similar to "Marx", referencing a communist Russia or the East German Mark or Ostmark, the currency first in the Soviet zone of occupation and later in the German Democratic Republic.

It is revealed that he had kept diaries since he was formed, which led to him having an entire library of journals. Almost all of them start with passages that read "I'm so cool/I was so cool today." He also seems to be fond of cute things, and buys things such as stuffed pandas, as seen on his April Fools Blog. In addition, on his blog, he says he's fond of sleeping, fighting, Old Fritz, and eating, his fondness for eating being displayed in his going to England to eat lunch, him "only accepting" France's ability to cook well, and his desire to get food from Italy and Austria with his brother in their Counting Sheep CD.

He seems to have a tendency to sneeze and find himself bored with or distracted from tasks, especially reading, although he claimed to be "a wiz at cleaning" and also seemed to be good at gardening, so it's possible his skills show when he is less distracted. In his and Germany's Counting Sheep CD, after sneezing and growing bored of counting, Germany insists he continue to count, causing him to continue, also raising the possibility that he can continue to do things despite his own odds (boredom) if encouraged. During Halloween 2011, he claimed he had a natural talent in everything he did, proving it by learning one of India's dances(and performing with him) in a month's time. According to him he'd practiced the whole month. Italy then said that he was a very hard worker, to which Germany agreed.

Apparently, he was very religious as a child (most likely due to him having been raised by the order of Teutonic Knights, a highly religious war group). This is exampled when he accidentally gropes Hungary when they were children (not having known that she was a girl during that particular point in time). However, once he discovered that he had grabbed her breasts, after Hungary had left to go fight, he is seen kneeling before an altar, begging God for forgiveness (as he believes that he has committed a sin).

Prussia takes pleasure in annoying and humiliating Austria in whatever way he can, and fought against him in wars in the past, seizing [[wikipedia:Silesia|Silesia]] for himself in the ''War Of Austrian Succession'' (the strip of which contained Austria saying the infamous "vital regions" line).

On numerous occasions, he finds himself alone and crying. Prussia will mention that he is happy alone unlike a certain "stupid aristocrat". In the Christmas Strips, Prussia has to tell himself that he would rather be alone than with others ''"because clustering is for the weak. Yeah, like that stupid aristocr--"''. Prussia often speaks negatively of Austria.

In the present day while living with his brother, Prussia freeloads off of Austria and has a habit of stalking him. Also, in Prussia's blog, it is implied that either Prussia and Austria are both living together in Germany's house, and that Austria hangs around the brothers very often to sort out their messes and spends a large fraction of his time with them. In the Maria Theresa arc of the anime, Prussia often attempted to make Austria beg for mercy during the battle. He also mentioned wanting a painter to come and paint Austria's face after he had lost the first battle, so that his failure could be etched into history.

===Cuba===

Their relationship has only been shown in Prussia's blog as of yet. The two are possibly close, as Cuba calls him "big brother" and Prussia says that he'll look at his blog later once he noticed he had one. Why Cuba refers to him this way has yet to be stated. Cuba praised the maple syrup Prussia had been given by [[Canada]], telling him that if he thought it was simply another April Fool's joke that he should keep thinking that, but eat it anyway. He was also pleased when Prussia was happy after eating pancakes with the syrup.

On Prussia's blog, he was requested to try some of England's cooking, but could not stomach it and passed out, making all the other nations believe he was dead. And during the Seven Years' War England sent Prussia a letter declaring him his ally, though England left the war as soon as France did, as he was only there to oppose him.

Prussia is often depicted as having a close friendship with France and Spain, stemming from their alliance during the War of Austrian Succession. At the end of his cleaning game, he was shown to be spending time with them, telling them about his adventure cleaning the house of the chosen country. In Prussia's blog, upon his "revival" from eating England's food, France became afraid that Prussia was some sort of monster, though it was likely a joke as he'd invited him over to eat afterwards. Prussia says he doesn't acknowledge anything about France but his skill at cooking, so it seems they have a somewhat negative relationship, despite their closeness. During the 2007 April Fools event, "Prussia" demanded to have Alsace-Lorraine given to him, causing France to claim he hates Germans. In the 2007 Christmas strips, however, France claims to know a lot about Prussia, though when asked if he was a virgin like his brother or not he was unsure.

Though the two are brothers, they do not appear together in most of the strips (as Prussia's earlier appearances were before the foundation of the German Empire). Germany is shown to be annoyed by his brother's wild attitude and his tendency to buy strange things, as seen in the April Fools' blog event and drama CD. In the Halloween event of 2011, Prussia says that Germany often performs suplexes on him when he's aggravated with things he's done, and that it's so regular it's nothing to worry about, opening speculation that they fight physically regularly. Prussia refers to their familial tie as "unsavory". It's revealed, in his and Germany's Counting Sheep CD, that he does find himself wanting to do "big brother" things for him, sometimes, and further revealed during 2011's Halloween, Germany intended to bring his brother to the party with him, but Prussia stayed home on his own accord. Germany then instructed him not to stay in bed all day, likely wanting him to come to the party and enjoy himself(however, to annoy him, Prussia decided to do just that until India came along.)

He seems proud of his strength and growth thus far, although he resents his stubbornness. His strength apparently makes him feel safe, as he is less afraid of Russia because of it.

===Hungary===

The two have had a rivalry since childhood, when Hungary believed herself to be a boy (as did Prussia). It is said that she loathes Prussia due to him making fun of her hardships since that time. She is also known to hit him with her frying pan when she catches him bothering Austria, and had appeared at his bedside fully armed with a spear to threaten him to give back Silesia after he had seized it.

Prussia had also noticeably groped Hungary when they were children, though he was unaware of her true gender at the time and simply thought he'd grab a weak spot. After realizing the truth, he became disgusted and upset that he might have committed a sin, and was utterly horrified by his actions. His realization led him to confessing his "sin" in a chapel and begging God for forgiveness.

===India===

Prussia and India are shown together in the 2011 Halloween event, in which India invites Prussia to join him in making a magnificent entrance to America's party over Twitter. India is impressed with Prussia's ability to learn things very quickly, as he learned the complicated dance routine in a month, and remarks that he must have many friends as Prussia initially wanted to invite others to join the flashy entrance, but was limited to ten people because he would have to teach the dance to them all as well.

When Germany performed a suplex on Prussia India expressed concern for him later, before he remarked that it was a very usual thing for Germany to do(though India found it unusual and was somewhat shocked.)

===Italy===

Prussia is shown to like Italy very much and often refers to him as "Ita". In the original Japanese text, Prussia often uses the "-chan" suffix when he refers to Italy. Prussia often considers him 'cute' apparently because of his topography and climate and even goes as far as to ask him on a date in the drama adaptation of his blog event, only for Italy to be oblivious to his question, being fixated on Prussia's bird. In the same CD, Germany says that Prussia is very good with Italy. In [[Osōji Prussia]] (''Cleaning Prussia''), if he chooses to go to Italy's house to clean, he states that he has clear ulterior motives to be praised by Italy. Upon arrival Prussia finds Italy asleep in his bed, and begins to stroke Italy's head. As he strokes Italy, he is reminded of the [[wikipedia:Risorgimento|Risorgimento]] as he did so, and happily daydreams about him and Italy on a gondola in [[wikipedia:Venezia|Venice]].

While their only canonical meeting was in Prussia's Cleaning game, in which he helps him clean after Japan misinterpreted his demands as enthusiasm, Himaruya has stated that their relationship is near inseparable, and that it was something he wanted to show in Prussia's April Fools blog, but didn't get to. It's also notable, that Japan calls him "''Prussia-kun''", emphasizing this. Prussia possibly goes to Japan's house very often, as he said that he "usually" has tea and manjuu when he goes. When they finished cleaning, to show his gratitude, Japan gave him the cakes he had previously been asking for, however the work exhausted Prussia, so he could "only" eat 34.

Also stated in the game, was Prussia's enjoyment of reading manga(he had attempted to learn to make his own, but he sneezed and abandoned the project), something he possibly got from befriending Japan.

===Poland===

Though the two have not appeared in many strips together, it is said that their relations are rather rocky due to Prussia having invaded and gone on a rampage. A glimpse of their past is shown in the '''Polish-Swedish Wars''' strips, when [[Finland]] mentions the [[wikipedia:Battle of Grunwald|Battle of Grunwald]]. Prussia was shown to have nearly defeated Poland (and been prepared to kill him) until [[Lithuania]] intervened and defeated the Teutonic Knights (after having pretended to flee).

===Russia===

Despite their lack of appearances in strips together, Prussia has been stated to hate Russia to the point of "losing four eyelashes" and being close to puking blood should he make physical contact, though this is likely an exaggeration. Despite this, he might be less afraid of Russia than others, as he explained that Germany's become so strong he's not freaked out by Russia as much anymore. Russia's feelings toward him are unknown thus far, however he was somewhat friendly towards him during his April Fools blog, especially when he mentioned that he napped at Greece's house where it was warm, and when he went to bed, asking him if it was warm when he did so. Prussia is also implied to occasionally get Ostalgic and, when he does so, Russia will appear to "impose himself" on him, presumably to attempt to befriend him.

In the strips depicting the Battle of Lake Peipus, young Russia is shown to be very angry at the Teutonic Knights' carelessness in regards to their movement to attack on the lake, despite that it was covered in thin ice and that Russia had warned him not to, going as far as strangling him while he attempted scolding him. However, Russia hoped that the next time they met they would be friends, instead of enemies. Prior to that, young Prussia was one of the countries who would constantly bully Russia. However, when Russia summoned general Winter to fight him and the others who were chasing him, it was revealed that there was no effect as they'd all been raised from birth in cold places(though this seems to contradict that Prussia was born as The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem.)

===South Italy===

Though they've yet to make an actual appearance together, Himaruya stated in answer to a fan's question that Prussia holds similar feelings for Romano that he does for his Veneziano, and he loves their climate and topography. In contrast, Romano disliked him as a child and wanted to fight him, but he was too scared of him to do so and merely cursed him out from afar. His present day feelings aren't given, though they likely haven't changed or are similar to his feelings towards Germany.

Prussia briefly appears in [[Episode 10]], during the era of "The War Of Austrian Succession." He is shown beating up Austria until France comes along and takes over.

Prussia has a much bigger role in [[Episode 79]] when he is shown trying to convince his brother Germany to drink the beer being offered around. Prussia then proceeds to pester Germany with different methods such as threatening to enforce a rule where Germany has to go around the city wall of Rotenburg naked.

In the anime, his hair is platinum blond and his eyes are a deep red. His cross and gloves were removed, and his tall boots were initially removed as well but reappeared in Episode 79.

Although it is widely believed that he was voiced by the seiyū '''Subaru Kimura''', no one was credited for the role of Prussia in the Episode 10's ending credits, and it was later revealed that [[Atsushi Kousaka]] had actually voiced him (doing an impression of Kimura's voice for '''Gian''', from the series [[wikipedia:Doraemon|Doraemon]]). According to a ''Comic Birz'' interview, [[Hidekaz Himaruya]] approved the casting of Prussia, having anticipated that Kousaka would fit the character.
